How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.

I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.

ADN = Associates Degree in Nursing.......

Hi

This is vanciala I to am a student at a 2 year college for nursing

I am in my last year.:) My advice to you is to take time out for yourself. What ever ways you handle stress the best try to incorporate that into your daily routine. Try to get a study buddy in the program make sure it is someone who is just as commited as you are who is not working 40 hours a week because it will get tough later on

You must also read read read and then read some more:crying2: It was a good idea to cut down on hours at work I did the same thing+ I have a great husband who wants me to just stay home and study study study. Gooooooood Luck on Exam # 1

Hi Everyone: Just a little about me

I'm Dawn, 30 years old, married with two daughters ages 5 and 9. I am in my second year of a two year LPN program. I graduate in May! So far everything is going very well. I do need to brush up on my math skills though. I've been working as a CNA at a local hospital for over a year and I think that has really helped me. Unlike some of my fellow students, I'm not going into this blindly. I have a good idea of what to expect.

Hi Everyone!

I am a 27 y/o new nursing student - a junior, at the University of Oklahoma (we do our prereqs first and then the last two years are all nursing once we are accepted to the college). I will graduate in May 2006 with a BSN. I am engaged and plan to marry next July 23rd to my boyfriend of 2 1/2 years who is a pilot in the Air Force. I was a medic and EMT in the Army prior to starting college.

Hope to see you around the boards!

Hi all!

My name is Leslie and I am in my first semester of an ADN program in Texas. I have two boys--8 & 22 months--so it can be a little challenging to do all my reading, especially when I hear, "Mommy--play--please". I will graduate in May 2006--it can't come soon enough!!

hi everyone. i'm new to this site and interested in starting nursing school either this coming summer or fall. a little about me: i am 23 with a bachelors degree in psychobiology from ucla. around the end of my senior year i decided that i wanted to become a nurse. this past year i have been taking the prerequisites not covered by my major and i'm interested in an Accelerated BSN or bsn/msn combo. i know i want to be a nurse practitioner eventually.

I am a 27 year old student and I am in my 2nd semester of the ADN program. I graduate in Dec. 2005. I work 34 hours a weekd and I am in school about 15 hours a week. Is anyone else as stressed and is it me or does it seem like you learn something and it just slips right out. Any advice on how to organize time between real life, work, and school and still remain level headed??:rotfl:

Hi Everyone!

My name is Dee and i'm 30 years old, married with kids and new to the LPN program. Worked as a medical assistant for 4 years prior though. So, i have a little medical knowledge going in. Just praying that my family will be patient so i can complete this program successfully. :)

Good luck to all here...you are needed and welcome in our nursing ranks!! :)
