How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.
I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.
Care to share?

Congratulations on making it so far into the program. I can't wait to be where you are in a little while. Can you share any study tips to make this any easier?
hi.. i am rhonda, 27, from MN. i will graduate from my LPN program in May 2004. i have been a CNA for the last 10 years and finally decided to get my butt in gear:):) i am not going into the RN program right away and even if i did it will only be a 9 months course because i am in the associates degree program. i want to really get to know what i am doing as a nurse before i move on. and the place i am at now, the RN's have a speciallity such as a charge nurse or OB or ortho nurse or gastric bypass surgery worker. i work at a hospitol med/surg/ob floor and float to ICU and ER on occasion. i also work as a HUC (health unit coordinator) so i have learned alot. been doing this part for the last 5 years now and in my 10 years have work with almost everything you can imagine as a CNA. my favorite was the pt i took care of in a spinal injury home.
anyways.. i have 2 daughters... alanna will be 4 in January and Tarah will be 2 in November and i am a single mom. i miss my kis alot when i am at school and they miss the heck out of me but it will be worth it in the end:):)
Hi all:) I'm in my 2nd semester of my ADN program at a community college. The waiting list was so long at my school that I was able to take all my pre-reqs, co-reqs and have two babies before I started the program.
I just finished my rehab rotation (today) and am heading off to my med-surg rotation next week. I am loving being a nursing student (well, except for the bedpans) and can't wait to call myself a real live nurse in Dec' 05!!
