Hello I'm a labor and delivery nurse. I've been in L&D for about 9 months. I got hired at a small hospital but would like to work at a bigger hospital with a higher patient acuity because I would like to enhance my skills, knowledge and experience in L&D. I recently applied for a L&D position at the hospital I really want to work for. I thought the interview went well but I didn't get the position. They just posted the same position again and it's been two months since interviewing for this position. I applied for it again with the hopes of getting another interview and landing the job this time My question is what do you do in a situation like this where you are interviewing for the same position twice? How do you convince them you are a good fit for the job? Mind you I did not have all the necessary certifications needed for the job but they were in process at the time and now I have everything that I need for the position. Help! I really want this position.

Employers don't usually post the same job twice if they are wiling to reconsider hiring one of the interviewees from the first job posting interviews.

Hey everyone. I also applied for evening classes starting in May 2017. Friday made 2 weeks since my interview. I went onto mycampuslink like someone suggested and saw "Student Status: Enrolled." I'm praying for the best. Going to call admissions tomorrow 3/20 to see if they know anything. Good luck to everyone, hopefully we can all be classmates together!
This is kind of off record, but I have a trip planned to Thailand at the start of December. I think I know the answer, but does anyone know if we'll have classes running between Dec 1st-10th? I lost the form where it had the semester information.
Hey Dishes the first time I interviewed for the position it was at a job fair so it wasn't officially posted but indicated at the fair that they were hiring. This past week is the first time they actually posted the position itself if that makes sense.

You have nothing to lose by applying again. Maybe their original chosen applicant didn't pan out. I hope you get a second interview.

Do you have the hiring manager's contact information from your last interview? I would email her and inquire.

Worst case scenario is they say no. You have nothing to lose, unless you're one of those people with that pesky 'pride' issue, which you will lose very quickly in this profession. I was looking at a bedsore on my patient's buttocks and out came a nice odorous fart that I instinctively inhaled.

Why would you not apply again? Things have changed if you did not have the necessary certifications the first time around.

Job fair applications are useless. They get lost in the additional shuffle.
Certainly apply again, all they could do is say no.
Best wishes, let us know how it's going.

There's lots of reasons that you could have been passed over the 1st time, but would be hired the second time: someone with more qualifications applied the first time, the position was filled by an internal applicant, the position was filled by a friend/family member of someone in the hospital, you've gained more experience in the time that passed, etc.
P.S. If you "interviewed" at a job fair and there was no open position posted on line, there was never an open position. I wouldn't even consider you to be interviewing for the same position twice. There was no original position.
