Interview today- Help!!

Just be yourself....but dress as if you were going for a job interview. That's what I did. Just bear in mind that the Admissions Officer is going to be more interested in your ability to meet the academic requirements for completing the nursing program than anything else. Definitely dress well, and be yourself.

Be honest and enthusiastic and emphasize why you want to be a nurse, why you will be a good asset to their program, past achievements, etc.

We were spared all this agony... we didn't have interviews. We all petitioned, were ranked according to our GPAs, pre-requisites completed, etc., and the letters were sent out... you either got accepted or rejected. If you were rejected, you tried again the following year (if you wanted to).

Anyway, I'm sure you'll do fine.

The others are right-You don't quite want to dress for church, but you definitely want to project a neat, professional look. I believe a "scenario" might be to see how you logically reason things out-just a guess, tho. If your grades and prereqs are in order, and you have a pleasant, competent, demeanor, you'll wow'em!

P.S. I went through school with some who didn't bother to dress worth a flip, and who weren't very pleasant, and questionably competent, so what do I know? LOL!

Well...........got through the interview.......thought I was going to hurl b4 it was over. I was totally unprepared when I walked into the room and there were 8 people sitting at a huge table. I was asked two questions by all 8 of them. Talking about nervous! I just assumed that it would be a one on one interview! Should've known better though. Anyway, they mail out the refusal/acceptance letters this Thursday, so I should know by Monday at the latest. I'll let you know the results - say a little prayer for me! And thanks for the encouragement and help!

No, didnt' think to wear a nurse cap- but there was one young lady who wore a Ozzie Ozborne Tshirt and a pair of slick shiny tight little pants- no one said anything but I know she could feel all eyes following her...........wonder if they thought she was serious? Teehee

Oh my G-d! Not that "if you and another person had a professional disagreement, how would you deal with the issue?" scenario again.......

Seriously, dress well and be yourself. Answer questions without babbling beyond what was asked. Do not be overly critical of yourself. Refer to how you are a team player, and sometimes expect too much perfection from yourself. Bring the shovel!

Just kidding about the last part...... keep in mind that many interviewers are dreadfully horrible at interviewing, and you will do just fine. Ask pertinent questions; read up on the place before the interview.

I've been thinking about my interview, I don't think I did well at all. I just wish I had've answered a couple of the questions thrown at me a little differently, and wish I had done like you said Jerry, and asked a few questions. At the end when they asked me if I had any questions I said "no, not at this time". Does that make me sound uninterested or that I could care less? They mail out the acceptance/refusal letter today- Over 260 people trying to get into a 30 spot class, I just don't have a very good feeling! Those of you who pray, say a little prayer for me, and thanks for all the advice!
