Internships for Pre-Nursing students

Nursing Students General Students

Hi! I was wondering where can I find internships for pre-nursing students specifically around the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area? Whether paid or voluntary it doesn't matter. I'll greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

I have never heard of an internship for a prenursing student. Usually they want you to have a year of nursing school under your belt before any internship is given. I would say look at volunteering at a local hospital.

I have never heard of internships for pre nursing students either. You might consider getting your CNA license? That would certainly provide you with valuable experience that will not only get your foot in the door of a hospital, but also make you comfortable with patient care and communication, which in turn could make you feel more comfortable when you are beginning clinicals.

Thanks for the reply! Yes, that's what I was thinking too that they might not have internships for pre-nursing students but I still just want to see if there might be some which maybe not lol I am in the process of volunteering at an Aurora clinic so maybe in the future I can ask them! I am also currently volunteering at a nursing home so I can experience different settings and decided which is best for me. Thanks again! :)

Thank you for your answer! I am thinking of getting my cna license this summer but they are a bit costly right now and unfortunately it didn't fit my schedule for this summer. I plan to take cna classes next summer before I apply to the nursing program, but I am still not sure if I want to get my cna license if I get into the nursing program at my school.

Check with your state board of nursing, some states grant cna licenses to nursing students who have completed the first semester of nursing school.
