hey guys..

i just want to know what the specs are for studying nursing in the philippines. anyone ever go to nursing school there? if so..can u tell me the steps u went thru, ranging from how to get a student visa and picking a school?

My question would be why you would want to do this to begin with. Nursing school is hard enough, let alone emmigrating to another country, dealing with different language/customs (unless you are Filipino), let alone differences in medical care, then possibly coming back to the US and having to go through all the hurdles to take NCLEX as a foreign grad.

Sounds like a tough row to hoe.

are you a filipino citizen? or american citizen?

if you are an american, you will need student visa in order to study in pi. if you have dual citizenship, there should be no problem.( or just to be sure, you might want to check with philippine immigration).

you will need enough amount of $$ for college tuition, ( and living expenses), because for international students, the tuition is normally double the amount of the regular students ( fil. citizen).

these two i can remember...but i want to ask you if you ever try checking other schools here in the u.s. we have a lot of bsn schools, and asn schools. if you really want to study in the philippines, you might want to do a thorough research about schools there. there are some schools which are really good, but there are also some who are questionable...lately a lot of schools are opening in the philippines producing low quality education..not nurses per se, plus they don't put up to the standards of nursing education here in the usa..you might wanna think about the pros and cons about studying there. can you stand the heat? do you speak the language? have you ever been to the philippines? i am a philippine born american citizen graduated there in 2005, and currently working here in honolulu, so i can relate well to that...;)

yes..i was born there..and understand and speak the language. im trying to obtain my visa rt now.
