Hi , I'm new here.. I'm an RN ,still in the Philippines and am currently under H4-visa (dependent) as my wife is a PT.. I Just want to confirm if the state of VT does not require its applicants to take the CGFNS exam prior to NCLEX.. My other option is California, but then I've heard that CA requires SSN prior to the issuance of RN license.

Can somebody advise me on what steps shall I take first ? I have plans on taking NCLEX first , next IELTS-- then eventually follow my wife in U.S. Thanks in advance! God bless!

Hi! Can anybody help me to know if my NCLEX application is approve? The VT Secretary of State alreardy received my application.I just want to know how long have I wait for the approval? Is there any access to know the list forn the approved applicant?Thank you very much

NCLEX is just a part of the licensing process as a Registered Nurse, it is not the only step. And you do not get NCLEX application approval, you get approval to sit for the exam. You never apply for the exam, it is only a step in the licensure process.

There is no list to see, only when you have a license. And how long ago did they receive your application? And it is the Board of Nursing that gets the applications, the Secretary of State office is for driver's licenses, and license tags for cars, etc.

Yes, CGFNS exam is only for initial licensure, once you are licensed in another state, you can just follow the application that is called "License by Endorsement."

Would you happen to know if New Jersey requires CES together with a state license when applying for endorsement or will a license in any state do?

thanks

That statement that you are quoting above is when NJ still required the CGFNS exam, they have not since February 1, 2006.

If you are applying to NJ for either Licensure by Examination or Licensure by Endorsement, you must submit the CES.

If by endorsement, you must have a license to endorse, and actual license number from a state in the US. Otherwise you need to go thru the Licensure by Examination procedure and then have the state where you took the exam for submit verification to NJ.

Either way, you need the CES.

Now, that was clear. Thanks a lot. :)

You mentioned in one of your posts that you were the first from your school to apply for the nclex through Vermont. Since it seems like I will also be the first from my school, may I know if Vermont required other documents aside from the OTR and Education Verification Form? If yes, what other documents?

In addition, since I'm a new grad, recent NLE passer, and only holds the Certificate of Passing (no card yet), do you happen to know if I can submit the CP in lieu of a copy of the license?

And lastly, have you contacted someone from Vermont- BON either through correspondence or phone? May I know the contact person?

Thanks a lot and God bless..

here are the following items i sent to VT:

1. bank draft ($150.00)

2. personal application

3. breakdown of subjects (Psych, MS, Maternal, Pedia etc.)

4. Accreditation of Philippines' Commission on Hiher Education

5. Course Description (every subject taaken)

6. picture (2x2)

7. photocopy of my license

8. Transcript of Records

I sent alll those documents in one mail..... but the following documents (3, 4, 5,and 8) which came from my college were supposed to be sealed and enclosed to your mail... in short you will sent only one mail...

i hope this is clear... sorry i am a bit extatic as because i saw my name already :nuke: in the official roster of professionals in the BON site of Vermont.:chuckle :caduceus:

I have a few questions regarding Vermont:

1. After being made eligible to sit for the NCLEX, how long does it take to get the ATT after registering at Pearson Vue?

2. How many months is the validity period of Vermont's ATT?

Thanks in advance.

Yes you can be licensed in NJ because the CGFNS exam is no longer a requirement in NJ. What is needed now is the CES (which is also done by the CGFNS). CES is not an exam, it is only an evaluation of your school credentials like your transcript. There is a fee for it and more information can be found at the CGFNS website.

So, I can be Licensed in NJ even WITHOUT taking CGFNS exam thru License Endorsement--- provided that I must 1st pass VT NCLEX . right??

Thanxxxx Ms. Suzanne and to all fellow RNs who responded to my plea.
