VT RN Application-- HELP!!

World International

Published

Hi , I'm new here.. I'm an RN ,still in the Philippines and am currently under H4-visa (dependent) as my wife is a PT.. I Just want to confirm if the state of VT does not require its applicants to take the CGFNS exam prior to NCLEX.. My other option is California, but then I've heard that CA requires SSN prior to the issuance of RN license.

Can somebody advise me on what steps shall I take first ? I have plans on taking NCLEX first , next IELTS-- then eventually follow my wife in U.S. Thanks in advance! God bless!

You mentioned in one of your posts that you were the first from your school to apply for the nclex through Vermont. Since it seems like I will also be the first from my school, may I know if Vermont required other documents aside from the OTR and Education Verification Form? If yes, what other documents?

In addition, since I'm a new grad, recent NLE passer, and only holds the Certificate of Passing (no card yet), do you happen to know if I can submit the CP in lieu of a copy of the license?

And lastly, have you contacted someone from Vermont- BON either through correspondence or phone? May I know the contact person?

Thanks a lot and God bless..

here are the following items i sent to VT:

1. bank draft ($150.00)

2. personal application

3. breakdown of subjects (Psych, MS, Maternal, Pedia etc.)

4. Accreditation of Philippines' Commission on Hiher Education

5. Course Description (every subject taaken)

6. picture (2x2)

7. photocopy of my license

8. Transcript of Records

I sent alll those documents in one mail..... but the following documents (3, 4, 5,and 8) which came from my college were supposed to be sealed and enclosed to your mail... in short you will sent only one mail...

i hope this is clear... sorry i am a bit extatic as because i saw my name already :nuke: in the official roster of professionals in the BON site of Vermont.:chuckle :caduceus:

Hi! Congratulations on passing the NCLEX! May I inquire from you If the CHED certification you sent is just a photocopy of the original or I have to request an original certification from CHED? If you did sent a photocopy, do I have to make it authenticated by CHED or do they have that kind of authentication service in their office (CHED)?

The post from Sakuji is more than a year old, he has not been posting here lately at all.

To the new posters here:

VT must approve your application first, and then they notify Peason-Vue that you are eligible to be able to write the exam. You must pay the fee to Pearson-Vue before they will release the ATT, they are the ones that send it out, not the BON.

(illegible means that something cannot be read because it is not clear)

If your application is approved, then go ahead and register with Pearson-Vue.

hi! May inquire from you what are the documents you actually submitted to Vermont BRN? Did you include CHED certificate of graduating from BSN? Was it the original copy, certified photocopy of just a plain photocopy of the original? Did you submit a photocopy of your license card? (I'm asking you this because I still don't have the license card with me, only the certification of passing and Board rating certificate rating. Will this suffice? Hope you could be of help to me also. Thank you.

hi! somebody please help me!!! thanks in advance..

i read in the requirement of vermont that one need to present a local license. But im a foreign student here in the philippines, and the philippines do not allow foreigners to take exams, and so does in my country. they don't give me license since i do not study in my country. so how should i do?

You will need to contact them and tell them why you were unable to take the exam. They usually will make an exception in that case, but they have the final say on it and you can do nothing about licensure until you have actually completed and graduated from your program.

Not sure what degree that you are going for, but be aware that it needs to be at least the BSN, anything less, and it does not qualify for immigration purposes in the US.

Dear Suzanne,

I am now considering to send an application to the VT BRN. Everything looked good, because they don't require fingerprinting and a US SSN, I can have all the requirements -a passport, Verification of education, local license, until I saw the first question on the second page of teh applcn forms asking:

I have practiced nursing as defined in 26 V.S.A. 1576, for at least (check the appropriate statement):

120 days (960 hours) in the last 5 years 50 days (400 hours) in the last 2 years

Please enlighten me on this one. Is work experience really required? I just passed the NLE last December and is still seeking opportunities for me to practice my profession here in the Philippines to prepare me for my future practice abroad. Forgive me for asking questions which you may have answered a gazillion times...maybe I am just looking for a personalized answer. Our family was supposed to be in California since 2003 however our petitioner died about 2 weeks before our scheduled interview (ironic, eh?). My father remarried. And my stepmom was able to file a petition for my two younger sisters. i was not included in the petition because Im now 22 y/o. But as soon as my dad gets his green card, he will file a petition for me. I know theres too little chances for an employment based petition because of the retrogression in place. I am just so eager to begin an NCLEX application as soon as possible so I can have a license in any state then just seek endorsement to CA. I miss my dad and I want to be able provide for the family. Am I on the right track? Thank you in advance:bow:.

You do realise even if your Dad petitions you you are still looking at several years waiting time before you can move and work in the US. As I read it in the Bulletin for the Philippines they are processing over 21 not married 1997 if you get married or are married then the processing time is 1991

But is work experience really required in VT application? Or can I just leave it blank?

Previous applicants either leave it blank or put "new grad" if they were new grads.
