Can you please help me?
Story goes on Monday night I headed out with a few friends to celebrate my 21st birthday. After a few solid hours of drinking raspberry vodka's I was getting out of the car at home when my shoe snapped, I lost my balance and headbutted the ground. My friends cleaned me up, put an icepack on my head, stopped the bleeding and wacked me into bed. I visited my local GP asap Tuesday and ended up staying in hospital overnight for a CT scan of my head, an IV and monitoring.
To cut a long story short my head should be fine (thanks), but i have ended up with a very badly grazed left forhead with a large haematoma. My eyes are soo badly swollen that i can barely open them and my face very closely resembles a boxer's after losing a long fight.
My question to you is: Do you know of any remedies that i can try which may help alleviate the swelling. (preferably by Sunday please as i have a party to attend)
Please bare in mind I am in Australia so may not recognise some brand names.
Thank you in advance

i agreee...also after an injury aren't you supposed to switch to warmth after like 72 hours to promote bloodflow>healing>reabsorption of fluid?

Try warm and cool packs to your face, intermittinly exchange them in 30 minute intervals, take a baby asaprin 81mg,(I would say daily for a week) just enough for the hematoma to absorb itself. Keep your face well lubricated, vitamin E is excellent to smear all over the face to prevent any type of scaring and promotes the disapation of the hematoma as well. Keep the area around your eyes as cool as possible as often as possibe because thats where the drainage will collect , keep head elevated at a 30 angle as much as possible to also promote drainage down and no accumilation, if possible keep something warm around your neck, (your nodes are there and if thier warm they will increase the amount of activity that goes through them, hense promoting drainage.)Drink twice the amount of water you normally drink, and if you can handle mango, or papaya eat them, both hold healing properties in the meat of the fruit. Esp papaya.
Do not put any make up on,until you absolutly have too, keep the face as clean as possible, and clean it often to promote the own bodys ability to debre it naturally by sloughing off the injured skin, and it keeps the sweat out of the abraded areas. STAY OUT OF THE SUN......
This is the recipe used for a FACE lift and blepher procedures, it works it maynot get you all cleared up by Sun but it may keep you from scaring and cleared up enough that you can put some cover up on Sunday to hide the effects of a Party night out. If you do finally get to put make up on Sunday make sure there is a layer of Vit E on your face prior to putting make up on so to keep it from getting into the pores..... make up inhances bacteria growth because it has a base of sugars in it.Keep this up until your all cleared up. Good Luck

Warmed then cooled teabags, one over each eye. Poor thing.
