Has good old fashioned common sense went out the window? In my state PE / Athletic coaches have to be CPR / AED certified as part of their job requirement. And even if these teachers were not certified, how could they not know to call 911 instead of a nurse that was not even on campus??? Shaking me head.......

For real though, have you ever TRIED Poopourri? That stuff is AMAZING. Two squirts in the can before you go, and it smells like you just crapped out a lovely spring bouquet.

I read this with a student staring at me and now I'm trying to keep a straight face! Hahahahahaha!

My opinion of essential oils has gone quite a few notches up after seeing this. Love the reviews and the scents.

The article is appallingly sad.

We have AED's on each campus but there is NO mandate for CPR for staff. I fought for it the entire 5 years I was working as a school nurse. It is ultimately up to the administrators to do this. The nurse has no real power to mandate anything on campus.

I feel for that nurse as I had to cover many campuses over twenty miles from each other.

Makes me thankful that my state requires CPR/First Aid certification for teacher licenses. Of course, that doesn't actually mean they won't freeze up and won't know what to do...

Our state does the same for initial licensing. But then after that, it is up to the teachers if they want to keep their CPR/First Aid cards current.

In addition, school nurses are responsible for stocking the restrooms with the proper ply of toilet paper as well as ensuring the rolls are oriented in the proper direction for functional paper dispensation while maintaining an age/gender appropriate wiping training program for all students and staff.

Yes, I was struck by how the article smacked of standard nursing journal fare. "The nurse assesses for yada yada and documents yada yada and educates about yada yada" on every patient for every possible undiagnosed condition every single time.

I did get this as sort of a gag gift for my husband last year (I just needed something else in his stocking at Christmas) - and then I tried it and I was really impressed.

If you want a good laugh, look for a Poopourri commercial sometime. If you haven't seen one yet, you'll be mesmerized. (My first thoughts... is this for real?)

And while you're looking for PooPouri videos, also search for the Squatty Potty commercial on YouTube. That was my favorite video for all of 2015. That is clever advertising.

Absolutely! SO FUNNY! My 9 year old got a BIG kick out of that! The rainbow unicorn poo? Really?!

It's not their job. Their union says they don't have to. :sarcastic:

People are crazy.

OMG this drives me insane. We have nurses at work who tried to tell me one year that they couldn't do flu shots cause it was not in their contract!!!

I picked up the contract and pointed to the last line...any and all nursing duties assigned by the shift lead or supervisor....yes it is covered in your contract!! SMH
