Hello all!

I am applying to the CRNA program at Inter Amer Arecibo for 2015 and was wondering if there are any CRNA graduates from that program? Was it difficult to get through the program with English being your first language? Were the people receptive to mainlanders? Was it difficult for you to get a job in the mainland? How was your experience overall and would you recommend the program for a mainlander whose first language is English?

Hi, I'm wondering how the CRNA program is going for those who started in 2015? I am planning on applying next year. Any tips for interviewing? Was the interview in Spanish, or do they give an option to interview in English? Hope everyone likes the program!

CRNA2014, how did you feel about the overall clinical experience you received? Do feel you got a well rounded experience, difficult cases? big cases? Good regional experience? Do they offer a regional rotation? Feel comfortable floating a swann etc?

hey! so I am new to this site, just applied to CRNA school at la inter, I went to la inter metro and got my BSN. If I were to get an interview, how is it? heavy clinical base? Or more of a meet and greet?

I was interested in this program for the cost (23k), and was going to apply if I didn't get into any US schools. I ended up getting into the first program I applied to, so I ended up not applying, but I did speak with a graduate of the program who is currently practicing in the states.

I was told to attend this school only if I couldn't get into anywhere else. They like US applicants since we are required to take boards to practice. In PR, you are not required to be board certified to practice, so locals don't take boards which drags their pass rate down. She also stated that it's DIFFERENT in PR, and there isn't really a sense of urgency for anything. Financial aid will sometimes not be given out until mid semester and classes will be cancelled last minute.

She also stated that she didn't feel ready to practice after graduating, and didn't feel like she was prepared to practice in the hospital setting as she did not receive experience putting in lines. She also didn't receive very good regional experience, so she works in the ambulatory surgical setting.

I am considering applying to a University here but the program I'm looking at is brand new and a lot of it is online, which makes me nervous. They should be graduating a class next year so I'm curious to see the pass rate and preparedness.

I may throw in an app for PR just to see what happens. My main concern is taking the GRE. Arecibo is the only program in PR that doesn't require it. Does anyone know if they truly do have 110 applicants for 34 spots?
