Hello all!
I am applying to the CRNA program at Inter Amer Arecibo for 2015 and was wondering if there are any CRNA graduates from that program? Was it difficult to get through the program with English being your first language? Were the people receptive to mainlanders? Was it difficult for you to get a job in the mainland? How was your experience overall and would you recommend the program for a mainlander whose first language is English?

Luna, I have a lot of friends in the program that have graduated and passed their boards. The program is in Spanglish if you know what I mean. The books, exams , etc are all English. CRNA is about you, you study the material , you will pass, if you have questions you can ask the professors they are nice. So what I can say is yes its very doable from my experience(did my BSN in PR) over there. Inter has a 98% pass rate, you will not have a life for 28 months but you will be smiling after its done. You said 2015 right?.
Would you happen to know the stats of the people that got accepted into the program? My undergrad gpa is 3.04, graduate gpa 3.4, CCRN certified, and 5.5 yrs of CVICU experience. I worked 2 jobs through my undergrad and graduate studies which is why they are on the lower side. I'm scheduled to take the GRE next month.

I live on the island and I have heard great things about that program. Also theres another school (UPR-Medical Sciences Campus) that offer CRNA. This is located in San Juan (capital town).

I'm curious as to the actual total tuition for the length of the program at InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico (Master of Science in Anesthesia). I saw where the total number of credits required is 52. I also saw tuition rate of $202, but this appears to quite low. Is it really $202 per credit hours? This would put the Tuition at roughly $10,504+Fees+ Books+ Insurance = $18,000. Does anyone know how much it would cost to rent at a dorm or apartment close to the school?
Lore77! I'd love to swap info with you but I am new to this site and am unsure as to how to go about doing that?!?!?!

Hey guys,
I graduated from the Inter Dec 2013. I took my board in Feb 2014. I passed first try with no problem. I moved to PR from the states.... didn't speak Spanish. I have been working as a CRNA for the last 8 months. I enjoy my work very much. The program is as hard as any other programs... They are not organized so be very flexible. The language can be a problem but you have to push yourself to learn just a little... most people speak English in the medical communities. We were a lot of non-Spanish speaking in my class. You have to be pro active in clinical to get your skills. The school needs more faculties to be more organized. The tuition is nothing compared to the states schools. That is why I went there. I will be more than happy to help. PM me. Whenever you go, it will be up to you to be the best CRNA... no schools can do that for you but they can direct you to be the best.

Just wondering if the OP got in the program? My GPA for last 60 units is > 3.8, but my overall is closer to 3.1-3.2. CRNA2014: are you aware of your classmates stats? I read this program has 50-100 applicants for 30 spots.
Luna! send me a private message. I still cant send privates..
