Instructor taking too long to post grades

I atten an online rn to bsn program. I am currently in my last class (yay!). Per the syllabus instructors are to grade assignments after one week of submission. Week 3 is coming to an end and there are still no grades posted for week one. I have several assignments due this week but I am scared to submit them because I have no feedback on what I may need to improve on. I also do not want to "bug" my professor to post grades. I really do not want to annoy her at this point. She is also finishing up her NP degree so I can only imagine what is on her plate. Does anyone have advice on how I should proceed? Should I just relax and be patient?

BTW- There are 3 weeks left of class and by being at the half way point I expect some sort of feedback!

Follow the chain of command, starting with your professor. Ask politely when she thinks the assignments will be graded for the same reasons you gave here. If you don't want to "bug" the person doing the grading I'm not entirely sure what you expect can be done.

You are correct. I cannot expect anything unless I speak up.

I had the same thing with many of my instructors this month. My english professor being the worst. We had to sumit final papers without the advice that should have been provided. They did admit they were having some personal problems and would allow us to resubmit another final paper once we received feedback from the first paper. It was a long semester..

Xoe- Yes it does make for a looong class. I cannot wait until this class is over!

I agree, say something for the same reasons you listed here. It's so helpful to have that initial feedback before submitting subsequent assignments. Speak up for yourself! :)

I would email the instructor and ask. I had an assignment that was not graded, and my instructor had to call IT for help because for some strange reason she couldn't see it. Soon after it was graded.

Don't agitate the person who has to issue you a grade. With that said I have found that the type of professor you describe tends to grade you more favorably when they take so long. They basically give you grounds to appeal any bad grade when they take half of the course to provide feedback and they know that. Just be patient and remember that your goal is to successfully complete their class with a good grade. Hang in there.

I had 1 prof like that..I politely, emailed him and stated that I was hoping to see my marked paper--so I would not make the same mistake twice. He understood and he stated he would not deduct marks because he was late in handing back papers. he fully understood.

Week five out of six and only have 3 out of 15 assignments graded. Ugh, I cannot wait until this class is over...

I had this issue also and I did as a PP said and asked about the paper so I could see how I did and correct any mistakes for my next one. I don't think that's bugging them necessarily.

When this happened I usually got an extension so I could make changes on my new paper.
