Indiana State University BSN students

Published

Here's a new sticky for students involved in online/distance BSN programs through Indiana State University. Enjoy!

I have the first one, but I think I will bid the 2nd one.

Hello fellow students out there. I am studying for the Ethics exam. This one is a hard one. I have rescheduled this one I think 3 times. I have purchased the exam through Excelsior and it seems like it is almost a different language. I did not do very well on the exam. I am using the internet more and more. The TCN module seems to me that it just isn't worded the same as the test. I know it can't just give you the information to pass the test but it is frustrating. I will keep plugging along and hopefully something will click and it will all be just a part of me. LOL

Send good vibes my way to Wisconsin. Please

Have a good day,

Brenda :clown:

Hi all,

I think 2 of the Phase 2 CSM are on sale on EBay right now. Mental Health and Adults 1. Check it out....www.ebay.com and type in The College Network.

Brenda

These items are $10 and $15 shipping. Are they the right ones? Mental Health aspects in nursing and nursing care of adults 1?

Hi Brenda,

I don't know if this will help but on any Excelsior exams - I looked on their website bookstore, found the textbook they used to write the exam and then found them on the internet , all highlighted up but for next to nothing. I even found the "test bank-teacher's edition" for the lifespan one and that was excellent, had a 1000 practice questions in it.

Good Luck !

Yes, that's them. Tracy is right, they should sell for around $175-$200 like the last ones we saw. My plan is to bid these, and if I can't get the whole set , I understand they are in the Library at ISU. I'm thinking it would be worth a plane ticket and a day with the library copier.

I would start with contacting the NCBON directly via website, email, or phone and aske them if they accept.

Can an Anthropology class satisfy the Sociology requirement for Phase I?

TIA!

I took physical anthropology at a cc and it was accepted under literary studies when TCN did my transcript evaluation. But I still need to take Analysis of Literature to fullfill the 6 semester hours that are needed for the BSN.

Hi Guys - well Information systems is behind me - got the 65 !!

I never got an answer as to why the 65 is listed on ISU web site. They only just keep responding that a "C" is needed but the 65 is listed as a low A. My friend who has TCN asked them and they say the "50 C" is all that is needed to satisfiy requirement, but I'm moving on from this one.

For those of you who haven't taken this one ---DON'T take it lightly - it is brutal. I started it thinking it was an easy intro to computers thing but no far from it. This is a test on Networking/Database/Internet/Programming with very litte on basic computers. The TCN guide is VERY lacking, I don't know how you could pass with it. I tried to keep a mental count during my exam of the subjects that it covered and out of 99 questions I could only credit TCN guide with answers to around 30 of them.

I feel you need - the TCN guide, instacert ($20) course on information systems(also do the one on management info systems), Peterson's info system practice exams ($20) and I would get a cheap Amazon textbook that has the words "Information Systems" in the title.

Hey fellow students out there. I agree with mhr2133. I am studying the ethics module and TCN was not enough to pass the test. Let me give you a little bit more history. I went to take my gerontology exam and got a D.(I have to wait 2 mos. before I can take it again.) So for the next one (Ethics: Practice and Theory) I was going to do it I purchased the practice exam from excelsior and did poorly on them. I do not think that TCN hits the mark with their modules. I have been trying to study off of those tests. I think it is worth the money to give yourself a heads up on what is going to be tested on. Maybe my learning style is more repitition that what I think I need. My older brain:rollneeds more TLC. I have also purchased Lisa Ahrens cd and have used online flash card sites. Those things have also helped me quite a bit. I have found the Excelsior tests to be more difficult.

Thanks for listening,

Brenda J
