Wow, 5 classes is a lot. Is the medical portion you refer to in your post your physical at BI or something else? I am still waiting to hear with the Math for Meds challenge exam is.
Yes, it is at Beth Israel med ctr. You double PPD testing, I have all my shots like a good dog. :caduceus::coollook:Good luck on the challenge exam, it is always great when you can by pass a class and receive credit for it. I am still trying to get a Philosophy class approved for transfer, all the others went thru.
helen, are you taking any electives? im thinking i can probably only afford one at pace plus the spanish.
lindsey
Lindsey, I am taking two electives and also elected for the spanish. I found out from Pace that you can pay for the tuition in 5 installments. I could not believe how expensive they are. You need a total of 12 credits in nursing electives and 3 credits in a foreign language.
Hi guys,
I'm a NYer but will be attending a CC in Maryland for nursing school. I just want to say good luck to all.
It was great reading this thread from the beginning and seeing the anxiety turn into excitement.
Once again, I wish all of you the best of luck and enjoy the rest of the summer!

Right now my plan is to do Nursing Fundamentals, Nutrition and Ethics this semester. I also have to take Micro so I still don't know where to put that in, maybe Spring '07. I don't want to overburden myself until I know how I can handle the Nursing classes plus I still want to work around 35 hours at my current job. I am waiting for the class schedule from BI to decide if I want to do nutrition there or somewhere else.
Mario,
I was at school doing some paperwork and I asked them a few questions regarding the pace electives. THought you might be interested to know that the pace bridge program (Rn to BSN) has only a very few number of classes that can be taken prior to RN cert. So essentially they offer the same series of classes (or some group of them) every semester. These classes are all used for nursing elective credits of which you need a max of 12 hrs. So there really is no pressure to take them all in one semester cause they or another that counts toward the same 12 elective hours will be offered for the next 5 semesters we have.
I wanted to take more cause I thought it would speed things along eventually, but it boils down to the fact that we have 5 semesters at pbison to finish the 12 pace elective credits which are the only things we can take while still students. The rest of the bsn program are professional classes we have to have passed the Nclex to take.
Anyway, I am planning to take one per semester cause by the time I am finished I will have completed my electives but still have had enough time to focus on my nursing courses.
Good luck, hope this helps you out.

Thanks Lindsey, that is good to know. Pace told m e 12 credits in electives and 3 credits in a foreign language. That would be the Spanish 107 being offered by pbison at a much cheaper tuition rate than Pace, I am going to still take the two elective classes now since I believe the future semester classes will be more difficult and demanding. My pbison classes are only two and i believe there after I will take one elective classes per semester just like you are. Right now the pbison tuition is as low as it will be for me the upcoming semester will get much more expensive as well. So this semester will be just as busy as all the others for me and if I am lucky the last one may be a little more relaxed so I can put more time in studying for the license exam. Any word on scholarships , grants?
saw the book info but havent really done anything about it....
i was in financial aid last week and they have the scholarship info available. they sent letters out so you should get one soon but for the amount you can proabably just ask. they told me. orientation dates are the 22 to 25th from 8 am to prob. 4pm maybe earlier some days. thats going to be a long week.... wish i knew the rest of the schedule cause i am getting married the 16th of dec and trying to figure travel times out.

Wow, you have a life altering year coming up between nursing school and getting married. Congradulations. I had no idea we start on the 22nd, one thing I do not like is that info. goes out way too late. No book list, no schedule a little too slow, I mean this is New York where everything happens very fast normally; which is what I am use to. Not really nervous just want all the lose ends tied up before we start. Make sure you enjoy the next three weeks of your summer, because girl it is over for us.

Hi FLAtoNYC
I called about the scholarship and they told me information or seults are not available until tomorrow. Odd. I did not tell them my name at that point so it can't of been that. Anyway, I will just wait for the letter I guess. I thought orientation was only one day. Guess I should break the news to my boss I'll be out more than one day.
Yes I am getting nervous also but in an excited way.
