I am taking my state test tomorrow, in Ohio, for STNA. I completed classes in February, and immediately got a job in home health.

I'm nervous about the skills part. Not so much the written ;D

My question is; what 4 skills did you all get?

I'm trying to see how often certain ones come up. :D Thanks!!:redbeathe

oral care. make occupied bed. txfr to w/c. ambulate. handwashing. This was in Cincinnati.

Specializes in Geriatrics.

I took mine 3 years ago, so it's been awhile... but I think I got handwashing, ROM, pulse, and I can't remember what else.

I remember how nervous I was, too, but honestly it's really not bad at all! Just relax and take deep breaths, and you'll do fine. :)

Good luck!!

Specializes in Med-Surg/urology.

I'm in MD so we got 5 skills..but they were soo easy : respirations, oral care, handwashing, bedpan and feeding. Good luck you'll do fine!!

i took mine on June 19th... i had

1. Denture Care

2. Weighing an Ambulatory Res

3. Oral Temp, Pulse, Respirations

4. Perineal Care on a Female

my toughest one was #4, and that is the one that i missed one on.

up until the test, i was SO stressed about everything! and even while i was taking the test, i was searching my brain for any tiny little detail i had missed..but in all honesty, the instructer is most likely NOT focusing on the miniscule details ur worried about!

I had handwashing, TPR, and haircare and wheelchair to bed. That was Cincy a year ago. Too easy and the testers were really nice. Strict but still nice and talked to me afterwards and gave me encouragement. :)

Im in AZ, took mine on June 19 too.

I had...

-Handwashing

-Perineal Care Female

-Range of Motion on the Shoulder

-Feeding dependent Resident

-Transfer from wheelchair to bed.
