:p Hi everyone

I would like some help . please dont judge me . as I'm here for your support and guidance. I'm a 29 yrs old Female . I'm an entertainer I dance in various clubs from professional dancing to erotic at the moment I currently going back to college . I'm enrolling in BMCC . my aunt and friend are nurses and I currently do vitamins shots for some of my friends from vitamin B, to helping them with oxone treatments from Europe which is a way where people who have hepatitis C get there blood fix with Oxone and are expected to inject this medicine to help there blood get better. I truly dont know much of how it works but my exboyfriend went to Europe and sought out a Doctor that help him with this . This type of Alternative in not used in the USA. . I do all there injections Dont worry my mother used to work in a Hospital so she taught me . I like the nursing feel and my friend said I would be great in ICU she saids my attitude with dealing with people will help me deal with patiences. Would anyone suggested a good field in the nursing .

My question is . What is the best way for me to get into the Nursing program in BMCC . is there anything I can do to help me make my dream come true . I being reading post where they say nursing doesnt pay much.

My friend saids it pays good and I want something that gives me BENEFITS and I can help people. I also want to work in a hospital a 3 day 12 hour shift or even with a plastic surgeon. Am I thinking right or do I have the wrong idea of the nursing profession. I understand theres days you like your job and days you dont. Just like me in Dancing I do pretty well but I want a career that I can be helpful not seen as an object.

Truly appreciate your help.

Hello there,

Good to hear that you're looking to get into something different. I'm not judging you by saying that, but it's good to know that you're looking to find something to help people.

Anyway, where is BMCC? I'm guessing that is some type of community college somewhere. Anyway, the first thing you need to do is go to the school and talk to someone in admissions or in the nursing department. Find out what classes you have to have before admission. Usually, you have to have pre-requisite classes, which are required classes you must have before you're accepted. Taking these classes usually entails at least a semester (usually at least two). The classes are usually anatomy and physiology, micro, college algebra, your english classes, and a few others. Some can be taken concurrently with your nursing classes. Also, many require scores from standardized tests such as the ACT or the SAT. Anyway, like I said, you probably want to talk to the institution you're trying to get into. Well, guess I'll go, but if you have any more questions, you can write back or private message me. I'll be happy to help:)

I second the above advice - contact the school you would like to attend and go with that. Good luck.

bmcc is a very competitive school, and i am not saying this to discourage you in any way. i was a student at bmcc and decided to go to another school. the first thing you need to do is take your pci (pre clinical index classes) these are eng 101, math 104 (medical calculation) , psych 101 & a&p 1... you have to try to get an a in these four classes because bmcc bases their acceptance on the gpa average of these 4 classes only. currently i believe the cut off was 3.77 on these four classes. these classes can not be repeated so if you are doing poorly on any one of these, then drop and retake. do not take them all together so that you can focus on each class individually to guarantee yourself an a. good luck !! let me know if you have other questions.

I think BMCC is Mahattan Community College. As you can guess, if the school is located in Mahattan, a heavy populated area, it is supposed to have many many applicants.

Yes it's Borough of Manhattan Community College.... It has about 2,600 applicants per year and the reason being is that they offer evening classes, very few offer that:imbar
