I am a mom of 4 who started 18 years after graduating HS and was working full time also. I did quit last spring and am now focusing full time on school. I am waiting for my acceptance letter that should come any day, so it goes by quickly!! Good luck in your classes, it can be done! Keep us posted on how things are going~
You can do it; you just have to believe in yourself, work hard, and don't give up! I worked full time during pre-nursing classes, and had two small children. It can be done. I quit working once I got into nursing school and I am glad for that, because I would never have time for my children if I were still working full-time. Now I am 3 weeks away from finishing my first year of nursing school. I have a 4 yr old, and 2 yr old, and I'm 14 weeks pregnant with our third child. I got a lot of flack from my teachers when I told them that I was pregnant this time around but that is only making me more determined to succeed and prove them wrong.
Hello, welcome to the pre-nursing club. I worked full time and knocked out the prereqs at night. It can be done but it is hard work and slow going at times. I also am a mother of a very active 14 year old. Don't overload yourself and really work to get A's in the prereqs. I have managed to get A's since coming back to school and I am currently in my last prereq class (Physiology) but it has taken sooooooo long. (I started back to school when my son was 10.) My applications are out there and I am just waiting to hear if I get in. If I get in then I will finally get to quit (after working full-time for 20 years) As far a math and chemistry goes, keep up with the homework and you will do fine. Best of luck to you.
Ok, no complaining from me then! If you can do it with 6 kids I have no excuses. I must say I so encouraged by seeing so many moms and people in my age range and up going to nursing school. At first I was intimidated and scared to make this leap, but I think now I have a better appreciation for school and the art of nursing. And seeing so many others in the same boat as me succeeding is so inspiring.

Well I did it, I registered for Spring and Fall classes. Taking the summer off to move. Taking one class a semester, slow and steady. I'm taking Math in the Spring and Bio in the Fall. It shocked me how nervous I was just registering, I've been so excited about it since I finally made the decision to do it, but when I sat down to register online it was so scary hitting that 'Register' button. I am still excited but still so nervous, wondering how I will manage working full-time, being a mom and studying. Thankfully I will be able to quit my job come time for the Nursing Program, but I am so rusty on everything being 12 years out of high school. Math is my biggest fear (along with Chem) so if I can tackle that right out of the gate I'm sure my confidence will rise.
I'm so glad I found this site, I know it will be a great source of encouragement and information.
