I too will be taking the HESI test in about 2 wks. I've been studying for about 6 wks now which a lot of people are telling me is not necessary. I am taking the HESI with anat/physio, math, chem, rdg, and vocab. It's a lot more than what most people are getting tested on. I have been using the HESI study guide from http://www.hesitest.com. I think its good review material. Try that. I wish I could tell you more but I havent took it myself but just do a search here on "HESI" and there are some good insights that I think could help.
thanks, i have the study guide also, however i dont think i will tested on chemistry, but i have been studying it too, the a and p will probably be my biggest challenge though, everything else seems so...not difficult. i dont have to take it for another month and a half, we should stay in touch and u can give me insight after u take ur test, along with pointers and tips
thanks for replying to my thread!

I'm going to take the HESI Fri. March 3rd. I'm really nervous. I had the chance to take it today but I didnt feel prepared after reading what some people on here had to say about the reading/vocab part. I'm most nervous about the math part though. Keep in touch and let me know how things work out with you- best of luck!!

I am new also. I have to take the HESI test and pass it to be admitted. Does anyone know what the test emphasizes the most on? Are all the questions related to nursing? I have the HESI study guide which contains reading, vocab, math, chem, and physics. Are these areas covered on the test. If so, I am screwed in the math and physics department. I don't take the test until Dec/Jan and want to know how else I can prepare. Do I need a tutor for these areas of uncertainty or is that taking it too far? Help?? Also, If I don't pass, how long do I have to wait to take it again. Thanks to all who reply. Hopefully we can help eachother out!!!!

Its BASIC info you would have learned in your pre-reqs. Nothing over the top at ALL. I did not study ( I watched the season premier of House instead lol) and I received HIGH scores and completed every section in 2 1/2 hours with about 15 minutes of a break before I started the math portion. Physics questions were basic too nothing on this test was advanced. Math is basic math... just make sure you know fractions, ratios, percents in and out and you'd do fine on those parts. I have a very basic knowledge of chemistry (hate it) and got an 80. You'll have studied so much making yourself crazy and end up wondering why you stressed.

Dont stress about it. I took the HESI this afternoon, no studying, no preparing and I nailed it. You'll be fine.

I'm taking the entrance HESI in 2 wks for Rasmussen College's LPN program. We are being tested on all sections-math, grammar, vocab, reading, A/P, biology, chemistry, and physics. We have to score 80% or more in physics, math, grammar, vocab, reading and they don't really look at the chem, a/p, or bio scores. Seems strange to me. I'm really very nervous about the physics as I've never had it in school. The other sections I think will be fine. I see everyone here saying the test isn't that bad but the physics problems in the study guide are pretty complex and I just don't get it at all.
Is the physics section of the acutal test as hard as it seems it will be?
Thanks!
