How to write a PIER note?
I'm a new nurse, and at my hospital we are supposed to write a PIER note following a new admission. I'm not familiar with PIER notes...we mainly focused on SOAP notes and CBE in school. Can someone give me pointers on writing a PIER note (I'm not even sure what it stands for). Thanks!

Dead Babies...To Get It Off My Chest
This is so tragic, I'm sure we all agree on that....but I'd just like to point out that nowhere does the OP say that the mother was the victimizer. It could very well have been a child care provider or someone else that inflicted the injury to the child. Just something to think about before calling the mother a "putrid bucket of pig slop". She could quite possibly be an innocent grieving mother who just lost her beloved child!!

HELP! Bombed the HESI Entrance Test
Has anyone had to take the physics part of the HESI and is it really as hard as it is in the study guide?
-
im new, and have to take the hesi test
I'm taking the entrance HESI in 2 wks for Rasmussen College's LPN program. We are being tested on all sections-math, grammar, vocab, reading, A/P, biology, chemistry, and physics. We have to score 80% or more in physics, math, grammar, vocab, reading and they don't really look at the chem, a/p, or bio scores. Seems strange to me. I'm really very nervous about the physics as I've never had it in school. The other sections I think will be fine. I see everyone here saying the test isn't that bad but the physics problems in the study guide are pretty complex and I just don't get it at all. Is the physics section of the acutal test as hard as it seems it will be? Thanks!

Should I work as a CNA while waiting on nursing school?
Hi all- I am just finishing up my CNA class in order to get on the 2 year waiting list for nursing school. I was not planning on working as a CNA or even taking the certification test. My instructors highly discourage this and I am the only one in my class not planning on pusuing CNA while waiting for nursing school. Is this a really bad idea? Will it work against me when it comes time to look for a nursing job? This is a career change for me, I'm working as a social worker now and was planning on doing so until I finish nursing school as it pays much better than CNA's make. Opinions? Also, I'm wondering how much nurses have to do CNA type duties?? I'm doing my clinical in a nursing home and do NOT enjoy the CNA stuff at all....is this a bad sign? Thanks for your feedback! Wendy
