Im living in the Lancaster CA area and I need a job as an LVN!!!!! Ive looked for 3 months and nothing. Anyone have any suggestions? Ill travel 20 miles, doesnt have to be in Lancaster Thanks everyone for the help

You might have to broaden your milage if you really need to find a job. The Antelope Valley isn't really populated and you might be limited. I'm sorry you're having such a difficult time finding a job as the rest of us. I started out looking at a 60 mile radius, and will increase to 100 mile radius, the sad thing is that the whole Bay Area is saturated with LVN's and very few of us have landed a job. Keep searching and don't give up. Good Luck

Try looking in http://www.indeed.com. I often see jobs for Lancaster or even Palmdale area listed there. Usually they are home health jobs. Also go to the local offices of home health agencies in that area or look at home health agencies in LA. They will have cases in Lancaster that they can't get someone to travel to.

I just now looked at indeed.com and they have a job listing for CA Prison Healthcare at Lancaster that was listed one hour ago. You can apply online and they give a pay rate for LVNs with less than one year experience so that tells me they hire people with little experience.

Thanks for the advice but i have tried indeed and applied for the prison position no luck- I also went to the agency for home health and they were offering 16 dollars an hour- that is horrible money!!!!! Guess just gotta keep looking, ill keep my fingers crossed- thanks for the advice!!!!!

Sounds like you talked to Maxim. Try some of the other agencies in LA, but they won't be much better than $16/hr. All home health agencies have been lowering their rates of pay lately. Good luck finding anything that pays better.

Are you working as an LVN? I also havent came across many nursing homes either- there were a few but they werent hiring at the time- I dont have much experience (9months) so maybe thats hurting me- Ive seen a lot of places want at least a year. Do many hospitals out there hire LVN's? I also applied online to Kaiser Perm. they are hard to get into- havent heard back from them either p.s....im from NY and moved to CA so I dont know much around there- cause I did notice that there are no postings for jobs in the pennysaver or newspaper only access to jobs was online if Im correct, its a little frustrating

So, you want more tha &16.00/hr.? I was going to rcommend you to a place, but they pay about the same.

Upstate NY starts LPNs at $14.50 an hour. New RNs make around $20.

Is 16$ an hour the average pay for CA for LVN's? Im from NY so really Im not sure, or are different locations in CA pay more? I also tried high desert medical group- havent gotten a response from them- but tell me the place u were gonna recommend ???? Thanks for the help

The reason $16 an hour is being offered to LVNs is because employers are lowering their wages to $15 and $16 an hour and LVNs are taking jobs at those wages.

Is 16$ an hour the average pay for CA for LVN's?

Of course different locations pay differently. I would double what I earn in upstate NY were I to move back to NYC. Same as being in LA vs. the desert.
