OK, I know I'm just plain nuts - but I am going stir crazy. I have already taken down my Christmas tree, cleaned the whole house, got the exercise equipment all set back up (Mom was staying in that room during her visit), and I have reorganized my pantry. I have been updating my music collection tags, I am now looking at organizing the cupboards under the sinks and thinking of alphabetizing my spices (already labeled). HELP ME! My classes don't start until January 19th and I am wishing they started tomorrow - anyone else?
PS. I am on Ch 2 of my Chem and Ch 4 of my AP textbook already and working my way through 4 chem help books (dummies, studysolver, etc) at the same time.
Guys, this is serious now, there is nothing else for me to do in my house, i have goten my bags erady, my books, my stethoscope arived (so pretty) and i just dont know what else to do..
i am having such a terrible enxiety, i have to work until midnight so i drink some diet coke to keep me awake for work and for the 1 hour comute, then i get home, and i am having a terrible time sleeping!!!
i get into a light sort of day dreaming transe and when i look at the clock it is already 6 am!!! last night i was "studying for my NCLEX" and ansering questions orally infront of the board???
tonight i will set 2 alarms for the moring (working early tomorrow) have a glass of wine, and take 1 valerian root pill and 1 melatonin!!!
i just cant deal with this!! i get all jittery!!! so ancious!!!
I ordered my lab kits & new microscope (650+ for all of it, yuck) today, so that breaks up the monotony a bit. I have also been playing around with 'visiblebody' learning the bones, which is cool and I love to just play with the program. I have gone over my grad plan I don't know how many times and I have set up my money software with a budget (hopefully I keep up with it). I also have been downloading Marian Diamond's Anatomy videos off Youtube and I'll be putting them onto my zune to watch when I am away from the computer (she is awesome if anyone hasn't heard of her). Oh, and filling the empty spaces with computer game playing (nothing sucks away time like gaming).
What do you all do to get yourself organized when classes do start? The day I get access to my classes (I am doing them online) I enter all my assignment, labs and test exams into google calendar as well as onto a calendar I have right next to my monitor. I put the google calendar stuff in one color before its done and change its color when its complete. I print out grading rubrics and assignment points and stick them onto my cork board, right next to my calendar. I also go over EVERY page that gives information about the course and print out anything I need to remember.
Well, I've got my binders ready... I've got loose leaf paper, dividers and page protectors in them. Our school isn't quite as high tech - we have to wait until day one of classes to get any info. As soon as I get my syllabus I highlight all *very* important info, transfer dates into & onto my calendars. Then I load the syllabus into my page protectors at the front of the binder. Each divider separates the information for each test. So I'll label the dividers too if I can. Every piece of paper I receive is skimmed and highlighted right away. Then, all reference handouts go in page protectors, all homework/assignment handouts are three hole punched and everything is added to the binder.
Then in the books, I usually try to get them before class starts, I look over the chapters and helps. I flag & label all reference tables that will be used all semester (ei, in Chemistry I flagged the common equalities table and the periodic table, in Anatomy the overview diagram of each the bones and the muscles. We also had a semester long project on the brain chapter, so I had that flagged so I could quickly flip to that and work for a bit.)
I'm up for any more hints or tips - I love this stuff
I switched from loose leaf to Cornell Method sheets that I print out on my computer. I don't know if I am using them correctly but it has cut down on the pile of notes I make (from 21-21 pages/chapter to about 12-14). I also decided this semester to actually highlight *in* my textbook. I am totally anal about writing in books, I hate to even see a page bent, but I'm taking Chem and A&PI this semester and decided it was worth it to me to 'ruin' these books if it helps me get an A.
Sand_Dollar, I am happy to report that I have been **most** productive in my house and finished several large projects in my home over the last few days! I've been a crazy painting and organizing woman! Now, I'm with you...twiddling my thumbs (well, really avoiding some of the other tasks) and waiting for classes to start! LOL

I never even took into account all the time I spend on here! I am starting to come down off the organization kick so I better find something to sort out before it goes away completely! LOL
I finally got my sound working on my computer and can watch TV shows again (we don't have cable), now I can catch up on Heroes before school starts...
