Im so freak out about the entrance exam at Greater Lowell Tech !!!

Hi y'all I'm taking the test this upcoming saturday (the 1st entrance test) at Greater Lowell and I will like some advices/opinions/essays topics of those who took it already....I'm just scared about the essay because I have no idea of the topic, if there's any choice of topic and English is my second language (I know everyone keep telling me I'm doing great but..it doesn't change that much), Please if you know anyone who's going there or went there inquire for me , please!!

I waived Microbiology and A and P. I was wondering if anyone knows if we are required to purchase the book for it as well?

I dont want to purchase it if I don't need and I don't want to waste my money on another book.

And did anyone start to purchase the books yet? so expensive!!!!!

I don't think we will need to buy them if we won't be taking the classes. Well I hope we don't. They are very expensive but I have been trying to compare prices else where. I was also curious if some of them we could get older editions to save a little money too. I might try to email the gentleman who interviewed us (I dont know if we can say names on here) or the director of the program.

I have also been comparing the prices too, but specifically amazon.com, I have seen that a few of the books there are cheaper than the website that they provided us. I tried emailing the main admissions women, but she didn't respond yet. (yeah def. no names aloud)

Well once you get the answer please share :) I have been looking on amazon a lot too. I have some amazon gift cards I want to use so I will most likely buy a few from amazon either way. I did purchase the optional Test Success book from amazon that is needed for boot camp week. It was about the same price and had free shipping so I bought that to be prepared. I hope to buy the rest of the books buy mid-July though.

Hey Everyone,

I just got the email back from me inquiring about purchasing books for classes that we would be auditing.

So basically if you are auditing a class you don't need to purchase the book for that class, because the teachers will be handing out to us the power point notes.

So that's good for me and my pocket!!!!

Thanks for the info. Did you get this answer from the director? I was going to email and ask about purchasing older versions of some of the books as well. That could drop the price of the book dramatically in some cases. So I would like to know if that is a possibility for some of the them. :)

yes I got the answer from the director. I am not sure about purchasing older versions over the new versions though. But I think we should purchase the newer versions because they have updated information. And the older version are definitely cheaper...but I'm not sure if we could or not?

Thanks for the info. I will try to email her sometime soon and ask her about older editions after I have some time to look into the books and what not. I will post once I find out the answer. Just because I want to save as much money as I possibly can. I'm a broke girl now a days paying all of this money out. LOL!!

well, what I have decided to do myself is to purchase used ones, they are really cheap and in excellent condition. I bought the medical terminology text book at $15 though without the flashcards but still way much cheaper than the new ones. Try to shop around guys, I also have this website that I just put the ISBN of the book and it gives all the bookstores selling the book with different prices , lowest to highest.
