Wooo Hooo I got my letter yesterday and just thought it would be great if everyone who get's their letters had a place to post. If they were accepted or not. Then we can all congratulate or console each other in one place :)

My letter said I passed the entrance exam. (LVN school) That means I got in. Woo Hoo I am still happy about that!

What did your letters say? Post it Here!

Ugh, after reading this thread, I feel depressed and stressed. I am applying for Fall 2006, application is due June 15th and I just feel like..AAAAH. I am sick of waiting and wondering what my future holds. I don't know what I will do if I don't get in. I JUST WANT TO KNOW:(

It is so much pressure and stress. It isn't healthy!

*dies*

Congrats everyone. Hope I will be able to comment in this thread by July or something.

All of those people who have gotten letters were just as stressed as you are right up to the day they got thier letter. Trust me, everyone has either been there, or is there right now (I know I am). It's hard, but the day will eventually come for all of us;)

Mine is interesting, because I got a THIN letter before the fat one! I was nervous, because this was my first choice!

If anyone has questions about getting into an Accelerated BSN program, ask me.

I applied Early Decision, and the normal application deadline is not till July 1.

Date of Letter: March 3, 2006

Program: Accelerated BSN (12 months)

School: Rush University (Chicago)

Date Program Starts: January 2007

I got this thin letter first:

"Congratulations on your acceptance to Rush University College of Nursing. We are pleased to have you become a part of our Accelerated BSN program. [They follow up with an offer to put us in touch with a current student there, as a mentor.]"

Then I got the fat one, also dated March 3rd, from the Dean:

"I am pleased to inform you that the College of Nursing Admissions Committee has recommended your admission for Winter 2007. The details are outlined in the enclosed letter from the office of College Admission Services....I am pleased that you have chosen to pursue your nursing education at Rush. The faculty and I look forward to meeting and working with you."

Here's what I did to get in. It was a 2.5 year marathon:

PROGRAM: BSN

SCHOOL: OHSU, La Grande campus

START: Summer 2006

I have been working on pre-reqs for about 5 years now, taking classing 1-2 at a time while working and raising my 3 kids without daycare. I have worked so hard. I have wanted this SO BAD!!!!! My goal is to get my FNP so I have a long ways to go still, but I feel so much better knowing that the door is now open. It still seems surreal. I honestly could not be any happier! Also just to give hope to those of you without a 4.0 GPA, there's so much pressure out there to get those perfect scores, but with everything I had going on I just did not have enough time to get all A's. My grades for the most part were good, but definitely far from perfect. Sell yourself well with your personal statement (if you get to write one) and just keep plugging along. It has been a long road, but it is so good to finally get here. Congratuations to everyone who has heard, and good luck to those who have not.

I'm still waiting on a letter from UT-Houston.

Date Program Starts: August 28, 2006.

I'm so nervous and scared now. I was so excited at first but now I don't know what to think. Of course I'm still thrilled but I don't know what to expect. I'm going to be the first class at TWU-Houston's new campus..it looks so nice! I've heard many things about how nursing school is and everything..What have you guys heard? Do you know anybody who is in a BSN program? If so, have they told you what to expect? Who else has gotten accepted into TWU-Houston for the fall?? Congrats to all of you!!! We made it! :balloons:

when i checked my mail late saturday night, i thought it was just another letter for fafsa. but as i opened it i was shocked.:flowersfo to my great surprise it was from the nursing school! my first choice school and way sooner than i expected!!:yelclap: i kept reading the letter of acceptance, over and over and over, making sure that i was not letting my eyes decieve me! i called up mom and dad and let them know! of course they say"no surprise, we knew you could do it" but they knew very little of how hard it really was!! then of course a lonf chain of text messages were sent! i stayed up all night! i didn't even want to celebrate:beercuphebecause i was in so much shock and i feared over celebrating!!!

:roll well congratulations to everyone else who was accepted this fall, i hope to meet lots of new friends and look forward toward conquering this new goal, them proceed to nurse practioner!!!

Date of Letter: March 31... but I got it yesterday (the 4th)

Program: accelerated BSN.

School: University of Central Florida

I also got accepted at UF, but either commuting, relocating, or doing a half-home, half-there existence was going to be wayyy too much. So, some other lucky person gets to be a Gator (national champs - woo-hoo!)

Date Program Starts: May 15, 2006 through the end of July 2007

:smokin: I think I was more relieved than ecstatic, though I was surprised: there were around 300 applicants for 60 spots, and though my grades were good, I still didn't think I was going to get in - I was told there were a LOT of 4.0 applicants (both prereqs and undergrad GPA) and though my prereqs were 4.0, my undergrad GPA was not as great (I didn't take my schooling seriously then!). Still, I am so happy to finally, FINALLY be starting the last leg of the journey toward my RN license. I can't wait!

Congrats to everyone who has heard positive results, and hugs to those who are still waiting or heard "no". Don't ever, ever give up!

I opened the letter and threw it down bc i thought i didn't get in..... On the first sentence it said, "Thank you for participating in the extremely competitive admissions process for the Associate Degree Nursing Program at Montgomery College." Then it said, "The Admissions Committee has evaluated your application, and wishes to offer you conditional acceptance for Fall 2006." And then it goes on the talk about the conditions (background ck.,CPR cert.,......) and then the very last word of the long paragraph said "Congratulations!"

I was like you have got to be kidding me!!! But oh well I am IN!!! Only 30 seats and over 850 applicants....it can be done!

Congratulations to everyone that has received their letter!

To those still waiting "HANG IN THERE!"
