  1. Thank you for your suggestions. The main problem is the physician has to order a cardiac rehab consult and they are not doing that. We can't see any patient without a consult. We are trying to encourage the doctors to keep us in mind.
  2. I am an RN in cardiac rehab and we are having a difficult time with physicians referring pt's to rehab. The percent of all local and appropriate candidates that were referred was 11% last year! We have sent letters the EVERY physician in the health system regarding research on why cardiac rehab is so beneficial to pt's that have had an event. And nothing has seemed to changed. The majority of our consults come from CABG pt's due to the fact it's on the standard order sheet. We would love to see the younger pt's having MI's and stents in addition to the CABG pt's. Is anyone else having the same experience? If not, what have you done to increase your volume of pt's in cardiac rehab?

  5. thanks for your replies. I am just anxious about how rigorous and quick paced everything is going to be. I know that we have lecture M-W and clinical T-Th. I am just worried about handling the assignments along with preparing for clinical the next day... any suggestions???
  6. Hi, I am applying to an accelerated nursing program for the Fall. I was wondering what a typical day/week is like for you? How do you manage classes/clinicals/studying/assignments? What are clinicals like? Anything you would like to add... I am just trying to get an idea of what a year of my life is going to be like so I can get prepared! Thanks!
  7. That's cool. I'm going to ESU for grad school right now. Can't wait for the snow:)
  8. Hi, I'm from W-B and I'm planning on going to Wilkes for their accelerated nursing program ( only 3 semesters!). What are you up to?
