I'm currently in school working on my BSN. For one of my classes I was asked to come up with an invention, and I wanted to make it medical related since I am a nurse. I know we've all said 100 times, "I wish we had this", or "I wish we had that". So, what could we invent to make our job easier and a time saver for us?

I would invent gloves that don't stick to tape or any other sticky thing.
That would be a good idea. Would they be based with some sort of vasaline maybe? And just use these gloves when doing wound care, dressing changes etc?
Yeah, or taking out IV's or changing central line dressings. Maybe based with vaseline or some sort of non sticky powder. I don't care. Somebody just invent them, lol.

Biodegradable gloves and briefs. Won't necessarily make life easier, unless they are also non-stick, but I hate thinking of all the waste we create in this profession.

I understand why IV needles need to be different sizes. I have never understood why they need to be so long. As the size goes up, the needle, and the sheath gets longer, making it hard to put an IV in tortuous veins. I really think they could be shorter and do very well.
I thought about inventing a pill that cures a hangover. We all know that hangovers are electrolyte imbalances so why isn't their a pill that quickly replenishes them? Just take with a 8oz glass of water and viola! And add a little ibuprofen to it as well for the headache.

Ativan water, for the patients family and the nurse (only to be used in extreme cases of PITA syndrome)
Someone mentioned this on another thread, but instant water. You take a pill and it instantly hydrates you. That way, no messy cups, no wasted time pouring, and drinking, no unnecessary peeing, and none of those time-consuming breaks that we keep insisting we need to take.
That kind of goes on the same concept of my "hangover" pill, haha. The hydration pill sounds like a nifty invention for more than just a nurse population. It'd be good in the sports field as well.

Adhesive that is hypoallergenic.
Adhesive that releases easily when you need to remove the bandage/tape, but sticks when you need it to.
