Hello, I like to share conversations with you all that come up at work, because you always come up with interesting answers. The questions of the day was "If you could no longer be a nurse, what would you do?" I had to think about this for awhile. I love taking care of people and helping them, so I guess my next choice would be teaching. What about all of you? If you woke up tomorrow and you were no longer a nurse? What would you do? And what would you want to be? :chuckle

i would be a vet. definatly.
in fact, if i wouldn't have to retake all of my science classes, and the nearest vet college wasn't over a 2hr drive away, i would probably look into it now......
if something happened and i could no longer be a nurse, i'd probably try to get a job as a vet tech somewhere.
I actually have quit nursing, and now work as a health/medical writer. I could never imagine working in a hospital again. I'd go work at Starbucks if my writing career ever foiled.
Other careers of ex-nurses I know--librarian, dental hygienist, nursing home director (still nursing but upstairs in administration and a lot more money!), teacher (grade school), lawyer, physician, jewelry store owner.
I would be a princess.....a drunk princess!
