Hi everyone,

I took my NCLEX-RN on Wednesday and just found out that I passed! I relied on Kaplan, Youtube videos, and God. I watched most of the Kaplan videos. The videos have the same content that is in the Kaplan basics book. I passed with 75 questions.

My scores on Kaplan Question Trainers:

Q1: 48%

Q2: 60%

Q3: 41%

Q4: 56%

Q5: 58%

Q6: 67%

Q7: 65%

A few days before the test I became really anxious and did not feel ready for the test at all. My anxiety was so bad that I started to cry and felt that I could never take the exam because there was too much to know. However, I listened to my family and friends and decided to take it on the scheduled date.

In my experience, do not wait TOO LONG after you graduate to take the exam. 6 weeks is enough time to prepare post-graduation. I learned that the longer I waited, the more anxious I became. Most of my friends had taken the exam before I did which made me more nervous. They told me the exam was difficult and how they had 200-265 questions. I began to listen to everyone's experience about the exam and became so tense. If you have 6 weeks until your exam date, you will be more focused and goal-oriented. I scheduled my test date 8 weeks after the Kaplan class ended, even though according to my Readiness test score I could have taken it within 6 weeks. I highly suggest taking it within 6 weeks. I became too relaxed because I always said to myself "I have time."

As you can see from my question trainer scores, I am not a genius. I am just like you. Yes, YOU! A nursing student who has learned only a handful (foleys, digoxin, furosemide). If I can do it, so can you. Believe in yourself. Be patient with yourself. Treat yourself.!

Do not study hardcore the day before the test. Review only lab values/infection control precautions.

- I did use the Prioritization, Delegation, Assignment book by LaCharity. I had to stop using it because their rationales for delegation are VERY different from Kaplan.
