Just took the test this morning --the computer stopped at 102. The questions were extremely hard--even after studying my butt off for weeks! I had questions that I had absolutely NO CLUE what the answer was. I found myself not even being able to use that good old "Decision Tree" that Kaplan drills into your head. The majority of my questions were Pediatric/neonatal and I even had a few regarding herbal supplements (something that I failed to study)...I'm trying to look in my school books to find the answers to some of the questions and I can't find them :angryfire !!! Were they really trying to stump me or what???
I'm feeling a little discouraged at this point (and emotionally exhaused after crying all day!!! ) Oh well, life is still good. I'm grateful I still have my health, happiness, and a wonderful, supportive husband (the poor guy, he may need to go to a "husband of a nursing school student" therapy group soon)

It's a dreadful test. Best wishes. :)

The NCLEX is the worst thing ever invented, but unfortunatley we wanna be nurses MUST take it in order to get our license. I think that graduating from nursing school should be good enough, but anywho...
Just keep a positive attitude and remember no matter what the outcome you gave it your best and that's all you can do. And if the failing happens know that you WILL pass. Just pick up your head and give it another go. Although I'm sure you did great! EVERYONE feels the same as you when they walk out of there. Your not alone!
Keep us posted and GOOD LUCK!

Wow, I can totally relate to you!! I feel like Kaplan did absolutely nothing in terms of giving you "tips" for taking the NCLEX...that decision tree was of no help to me. I took the exam 6/29: 75 questions, and am anxiously waiting my results tomorrow. And what were all those herbal supplement questions!!!????:uhoh21: I failed to study those as well, considering NO ONE including good ole kaplan reviewed them with us. Sigh. Oh well, good luck to you!!! I am sure you did well!!

I also felt like all the strategy that I drilled into my head was lost the minute the test started. I could barely think straight, no less apply what I had learned! Luckily, it all worked out and I passed at 75! I'm betting you'll be an RN before you know it! :)

Study those herbal supplements!!! I'm kicking myself in the head for not knowing those! I'm hoping they were included in those 15 supplemental questions!! I really didn't think that I would get so many neonatal questions either. It seemed to me that a lot of the questions were knowledge based--you have to really know what the topic is and the medical terminology (ex. what to do you teach an 80 yr old CHF with xerostomia???) I didn't even know what that word was, just that it pertained to the mouth, but then the answers were all about doing something to the mouth!
It's really hard to give any advice, everyone's test is different. You're going to hear different things from everybody! I kept hearing "it's very hard" or "it's so much easier than Kaplan" --- I found it to be the hardest test I've ever taken.
I know that doesn't help much...all I have to say is stay focused, breathe, use the breaks if you start getting drained (drink some Gatorade or something that will perk you up!) Don't get discouraged if you go beyond 75 questions--if you do, DON'T let that distract you!! And request the earplugs!
Good luck!

Mine shut off at 120 (approximately).
My questions were impossible. Many multiple multiples, diseases I am not sure I ever heard of, herbs, many discliplines combined. Most of the questions were far harder than I was prepared for.
I found out this morning I passed.
I called my professor and she said I got few cardiac, renal, etc questions because the few I had answered were most likely correct.
I had my doubts and I burst into tears when I read my results.
Hang in there. A strange number of questions between 75-265 can be a very very good thing.
Thanks for the advise! im gonna make sure i look over some herbal supplements, ive heard a lot of people talking about seeing that in there test. Anyway let me know when you pass!!!!!

I guess any bit of studying brings down anxiety but I'm hearing that herbals, etc. are the pilot questions. That the disaster & triage is what we may not have gotten in school.

I received 82 questions and I still passed. I thought the test was very difficult which I hear is a good sign!
G'Luck!
