It bothers me like those people who wear adult whinnie the pooh clothes. Why do they even make XL sweatshirts that have Eeyore on them? I mean what were you thinking when you bought that purple bomer jacket with a disney character on it?

The world may never know...

Why does it bother you?

About the Eeyore sweatshirt--I think the shirt wearer was thinking either one of two things when wearing or buying the Eeyore shirt:

1. I like Eeyore and I want to wear an Eeyore shirt. I will therefore buy an Eeyore shirt.

2. My kids/grandkids bought me this shirt because they love Eeyore and thought I would, too. Eeyore isn't really my favorite, but my kids/grandkids are my favorite, so I'm willing to wear a silly shirt to make them happy.

OP, you need some chickens on your scrubs. It will give the illusion that you have a sense of humor in a way that a blue scrub shirt that says "Landau" does not.

I'm not a fan of the cutesy scrub top either...but I would definitely wear one with chickens on it :) My patients would get a kick out of it.

i don't see a huge problem- depends on the unit. scrubs are scrubs. i don't think anyone really notices anyhow, everyone is just trying to get their job done

To each thier own and all....but I work in pedi neuro and I still hate those teddy bear fuzzie wuzzie tops.

I have never heard a child say "Oh this doesnt hurt now because there is a bunny hugging a baby lamb on your scrub top" I dont even think they notice what we wear.

If you want to wear looney tunes all over your top, go for it....but dont blame it on the kids. They dont care. It bothers me like those people who wear adult whinnie the pooh clothes. Most of my patients are over 80 but I still get a smile from them when I wear my Peanuts scrub top or my cute Christmas/Hallowe'en ones.

When I did home health, I usually wore a solid color top, colorful print short-sleeved scrub jacket, and black slacks. On holidays, I would try to find something fun - usually deely-boppers - to wear. I always entered the house with a straight face. My clients loved it. Also, I have an extensive collection of colorful watches, and glasses. Anything to lighten up an otherwise dull world!

Deely-boppers = those hard headbands with fun items on springy extensions.

I have seen many docs with a wide variety of unusual ties or socks.

Well, now I know what those things are called (deely-boppers) and I think they're hilarious, too. . one of my patients, a 47 year old lady wore one with red hearts on springs on Valentine's Day.:redbeathe:lol2::redbeathe . . . and crazy socks are a secret obsession of mine.

I understand what you're saying, and cartoon wear for adults is silly. But my mom has this one white cardigan sweatshirt with an emblem of Gumby in camp-gear over the pocket that I've tried to beg, borrow and steal away from her for years-- and she will not part with the thing!!!I'm 54, she's. . . 76. :lol2:

I have always loved cutesy scrubs, just because they make me smile and seem to match my personality :)

When I did home care, that was mostly what I wore. And if I wore solid colors, they were always pastels. I also only had one patient, so I had a close relationship with the family and felt comfortable that they would understand I'm just trying to be cheerful in every aspect :)

BUT... I have been hesitant to wear any of my patterns to my new job on a multi-system PCU, bc the thought of being in the middle of a code or some other crisis with smiling froggies on my scrubs just doesn't sit right.

I do want to add one more thing, though: whether we realize it or not, everyone always notices what you wear.

Example: I got to my patient's house (home care) wearing a mock-wrap top with puppies on it, and that day, my boss asked me how my dog was doing. Out of nowhere. I think it was the top lol

I am guilty of wearing those cutesy fuzzie wuzzie cartoonie scrubs. I love it! I do work in peds and the kids seem to like it. But I think I love it even more than they do. Hahaha. I'm such a big kid at heart.

A part-time nurse walked into our theater one day, wearing not only a printed top, but with bottoms to match. I couldn't resist greeting her with the words, "hello, I love your pajamas..." She knows me pretty well, so she didn't take offence, and we both had a good laugh about it. Personally, I wouldn't be seen alive in printed scrubs, but if it cheers up the mourners they can dress me in prints after I'm dead...

Every time I wear either my dog or my cat scrub tops, the patients love them. This also opens up conversations about their pets at home. I'm true to my animals, and will always wear the cuddley tops.

p.s. I work on a Cardiac Adult Unit. :paw:

I had a patient nickname me "chicken coop annie" and that was with me wearing plain blue. I should have got a top with chickens on it while he was there, he'd have loved it.
