I know the written test should be easy.. I averaged 90's in the nursing assistant course in the written test. I have to do some practice because it's been a while. ^^;; Anyhow, I am a little concerned about the clinical skills....
Do I have to act like working with a real patient.. or do I have to talk to the person who is watching and explain what I need to do each step? Like, then I need to provide privacy, etc.
Also, do I have to tell her "I need to wash my hands" before I perform different skills? Because they are going to give some skills for me to do. I will try to relax! ^^

When I took my test I read my task and then performed it as though it was real. The evaluator will be looking to make sure you are doing all the right steps. My evaluator only said "you can begin now" and I only had to say to her "I'm finished" when I was done.
Good luck.
Thanks! If I fail, that's OK! I have two more chances. That's how I am! I always do bad at first, but then.. I do best. But I really want to pass.. so I will try my best.

I 'spoke' to the 'resident', it helped me include all the steps.
Good luck!
also, when I explain procedure, or w.e.... I have to tell the resident everything I am doing at once? For instance, "Hello Mrs. Smith, my name is Eduardo and I will be your nursing assistant. I am going to do positioning, feeding, and ... " What ever skills I was given.

I did it this way. I started every skill by saying "I'm going to wash my hands" so that skill wouldn't be forgotten. Then, for instance, I would go "Hello Ms Smith, I'm Tracy, your CNA today. I am going to assist you to a wheelchair". Then I'd talk thru the steps as I did them, so I would remember. "Okay, I'm going to lock the wheels on your wheelchair. Now I'm going to assist you to sitting and make sure you have shoes on". When I was complete with the task, I would say "I wash my hands and am finished". As long as you study the skills (I did flash cards) it will come to you while you are in the test. Good luck!
So after you say "I wash my hands and finished" You perform another skill and say the same thing? Like, hello Ms Smith, blah blah.
And thanks! Is it OK to take my sister to be my actor? :|
Yeah, I am thinking of making a flash card. Also, I am going to watch some videos. A two friends of mine who was in the nursing class just passed! I am happy for them. One of them was like me... very quiet and shy..ha ha. She always had trouble in class. I am glad she passed. Once I am there.. I am going to think of making sure that I lock the wheels, raise bed, lower side rails (if doctor didn't order to do so) etc. And of course, I gotta make sure to wash hands, say when to wear gloves, placing call light within reach, etc.

Here in FL when i took my CNA exam the other people who were testing were my patients and the testing site looked exactly like the school site where i was trained so it helped relaxed me. I stated out loud all the main things like "and here's your call-bell Mr.Smith" and "I'll be right back, gonna wash my hands". My duties were: Hair & Nail Care, Change of Position and Pulse and Respiration. It turned out to be very easy and I volunteered to be the patient 1st so i wouldn't forget a thing! Goodluck :anpom:

as far as the written test just dont be nervous, this seems that most ppl fail
eveything yes
OK. I am going to review what I learned a week before the CNA state exam. I didn't want to start this week or last week cause that's not good. All I have to do is relearn. So I shouldn't say "Today I will be doing Position, nail care, pulse and respiration." I should just say "I am your CNA today and I will be doing position" And then I have to repeat it before starting the next skill? I am just making sure! :)
