I resigned my first poopy nursing job but I have a question?

Nurses New Nurse

Published

So I resigned from a med surg unit within my 120 evaluation period to see if I would be a good fit for the unit.

Things were not working out sociably and team work wise too. There were some real smart *** nurses their with 6-10 years of tenure.

They would give me bullying looks. I just don't know what is up with this kind of attitude. I felt this same thing in nursing school. Really snakey and vicuous classmates. I just don't understand what one gets from being like this. I don't think I will ever understand. It is not like we are making bank with this job. We are more likely to get back injures and all sooner than a mechanical engineer or something.

So to my main question since I resigned within the trial period, am I for rehire or based on my performance and if the manager liked me or not they can put "Not for rehire" or can they not do that because I was within my 3 month trial period?

I do agree that I a male nurse that resembles an Orangutang; hence, I am never taken seriously by most of my managers so I leave banana peels on the floor for them to slip on and break their neck. hehe

Can you imagine hiring 5 Orangutangs in the ER or in the ICU? how fun a work place it would be.

Not sure if anyone ever met a real orangutang. They are super humane.

Nah, I don't see you as an ape.

More like a sad, lonely, Asian male, sitting in front of his computer who thought his fellow nurses would all be young, kind and dress as animae characters, sort of Sailor Moon nurses.

I don't think the problem is your classmates & coworkers. I think the issue is you.

this is why dictators take over everything for themselve and kill the rest.

This is the second time you said this.

You need serious/intensive psychiatric help. Immediately.

But at work I never said anything of those remarks. I am not that stupid either. Looking at majority of the attacks already on this forum relates well to the work place too. It is they just don't say it to your face. They find other many many clever ways to screw you.

I just don't understand the super cutthroatness in this profession. Actually wait let me take back the word profession. I will consider it a profession when majority of the nurses act like it, but I know there are good nurses out there so don't take this so personal.

I think the main reason why it is so cat fight type sneaky nasty in this profession is because 98% are women. They got nothing better to do. Probably over think and over gossip about stuff. Maybe I am wrong. Someone please fill in. Let's start a long forum argument. I will come back next year to check when I am in a different degree program that is actually professional. Goodluck trying to change nursing. The truth is all nurses are stuck. It is a crap profession which some fell for and ones who know it sucks they make the best out of it.

Nursing has only made me hate people more to the fullest. No wonder dictators kill millions of people or rise above them all.

Are people in general all that nice? You answer this for yourself. I am done justifying anything about this profession.

And thanks to all who helped me answer the HR question. Take care.

Clown, it is incredibly apparent that nothing anyone could possibly say here could help you. It is pretty clear that you need to speak to a professional mental health counselor to work through your anger issues, and your inability to work with people on any sort of professional level. Your "hate of people", and it seems women in particular, should be addressed with that same counselor.

As for your stint in nursing that has lasted only a couple of months, I say that you are better off for getting out NOW, and the profession (as well as any potential future colleagues and patients) is ABSOLUTELY better off for it as well.

Your school should have done better by you by recognizing your lack of "fit" for nursing in general and eliminated you from the class prior to graduation. Honestly, it seems clear, but maybe at the time you presented differently, and your instructors didn't recognize the problem you were having.

This isn't an attack, it's a personal observation, made from reading everything you've been posting about, asking feedback about. It's my honest assessment and best offer I can possibly make for you: Please do yourself and the rest of society a good turn by steering clear of any profession that would require interaction with living human beings. It wouldn't be good for anyone involved, at least not until you feel more comfortable with most of society. Maybe technology, something without personal contact?

I'm glad you are looking for a more suitable career, but these remarks are worrisome. Please seek counseling ASAP.

The verbal and psychological attacks in nursing never stop. Should we call most nurses educated?

Sometimes I post a simple question and some how here is always at least one smart *** comment, again another form of attack.

Your's was not an attack. I am just replying to your "Oh, good grief. I know what you mean. I think a lot of the problem has to do with transference of stress on to co-workers, and it may happen unintentionally.

Nurses really need $100K up front and a 50 year vacation or something, no joke!

Oh, good grief.

Well when you make comments about how your not surprised dictators kill millions of people (twice) & wonder why your classmates & coworkers don't say hi to you, put 2+2 together.

I will jump on the bandwagon & agree that you need psychiatric help. You should not get another nursing job until you receive the help you need. I have a short temper but I have never wanted people dead.

Most of them, yes. Those who see "attacks" everywhere...? Maybe not so much. But that's really not fair, as I don't see education as the problem. Psychological stability...that seems to be the issue.

Yours was not a simple question, it was riddled with underlying problems not spoken but recognizable. That is what garnered you the responses you got. Not liking them isn't the same thing as not deserving them.
