I passed my NCLEX!!!!!

Published

I am living in CA but graduated nursing from the Philippines! Decided to take NY-NCLEX. I took the test couple times. The first time I took it, I was aware that I didn't really do my best to study and prepare myself. Wrote 118 questions and failed. 3 categories were almost passing and 1 above and 1 below. Decided to take it again, this time I only did q&a (saunders). I did 100 questions everyday,I had to balance my full time job schedule and my review. It was hard but I didn't have a choice. I really wanted to pass this time so I've been Praying praying praying and praying a lot! (This for sure helped a lot!).

On the day of my exam, I was so nervous! As they sat me to my seat I could feel my heart pumping so fast! I was taking my time while answering my questions but I didn't expect to go over 200+. I then realized I only have 1 hour left so I panicked but still did my best to understand and answer the questions they were giving me. I finished 265 questions with 8 minutes left! I had 50 SATA,2 Exhibition, couple computations, 1 drop and drag and 2 EKG.

I was so scared and nervous, I had a feeling I failed my exam but then I also felt that I had a good chance in passing but ofcourse I didnt want to expect too much. 2 days after my test I had my brother check thru quick results, and boom yes I PASSED!!!!!! I was crying and I couldnt stop!!!!!God's timing is perfect so we just have to trust and believe :)

So please don't give up. Pray and believe, have faith and do your best! :) It doesn'y matter how many times you take your test it's a matter of being a great nurse! :)

Hi monique13, I've been using the Saunders q & a I took my exam January 17 and I just started focusing on my review around December 17 cuz I've been so busy at work (i work full time). I did 100-150 questions a day. In my opinion, as long as you know how to approach the question, you're going to be okay because honestly we don't know what's gonna be on our exam. Just do what ever is comfortable for you, or use whatever material that is comfortable for you. If you can't do 100 questions a day that's fine just make sure that you do your questions no matter how many you can do. During my exam, I honestly dont know any of them, so I just dissected the questions and figured out what they were really asking for, also you have to analize the options carefully (they could be a bit confusing). Make sure you know your Normal Values! Don't get too overwhelmed with SATA's. Don't forget to PRAY AND PRAY AND PRAY! That's what I've been doing, especially that I was so nervous ^^, I prayed that I will be able to accept whatever the result would be. Even if you pass or fail, there is always something greater for you out there BUT don't give up! Try to eat healthy and avoid coffee for a lil while. You can do this!!! I'll be praying for you and @henserson79. If you have any questions please let me know :)

Cogratulations! I just wanted to ask you if you have received your certificate and license already? or does your name and license number appear already online? I passed my nclex rn too last dec 22 ib NY BON but until now i did not received any of those nor my name and license number online.

Hi there! Yea I already saw my license number at the nursys.com website. It shouldn't take that long if you took yours on December. I took mine this month and it's already up there.

 Great news! Congrats!
