congratulations!!!! thank you for sharing, which lippincott did you used? the content or the q and a book?
Hi there Dcmom! I used Lippinocott Manual of Nursing Practice - 9th Edition. This book is great to understand how procedures are done in the correct order. I also used this book to go in depth with topics I did poorly in. I hope my reply helped!

I just found out I passed the NCLEX-RN!!! For those who are interested I used the following:For Books[*]Read most of Kaplan Book (A great summary of everything)[*]Saunders (For reference)[*]Lippincott (For reference)For Questions[*]All of Kaplan qBank (very helpful if you do 150 questions/day to get yourself use to tackling critical thinking questions so by the time you take the NCLEX it'll be a breeze)[*]All of Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment by LaCharity (the most helpful tool of all)[*]Half of NCLEX 4000 (the questions were pretty basic and not that challenging)My advice[*]Focus on Pharmacology and Infection and Control (make sure you know these)[*]On Pharmacology: Read the entire pharmacology portion in the Kaplan book. I used it as my study guide. Know all of the medication groups and theirgeneral action and side effects. If you do not understand any medication groups and how they work use Youtube and look up pharmacology videos on each type of medication group!! They have lecturers who will teach you in a simple and quick manner! You don't need to memorize medications and everything about them...only get a general sense and focus on the medications that are unique. The thing you need to memorize is medication suffixes to help you identify, which was very helpful in my exam.[*]Read the study guide that's been floating around in the NCLEX forum. The mnemonics for airborne, droplet, and contact precautions basically saved me during my exam. Those are a must![*]I suggest that everyone complete the LaCharity book. It teaches you how to answer difficult-level questions! It helped me understand the nature of critical thinking on a deeper level so use that! I even think those questions and the kaplan questions are even more difficult than the actual exam![*]On taking the exam: Take your time! It's the quality of how you answered each questions, not the quantity. Reread and reread the question over and over if you have to, that's what i did![*]Lastly, for everything you do not know/understand in the things you read or came across by in a question/rationale, research it on the internet or use your reference books and keep researching those words until you embed it in your mind.Goodluck!
