I feel that the more I study the less I know. On the practice test I'm doing poorer than last week and this week I was studying so hard almost 60 hours. And I feel like I don't know the stuff which I knew before. Maybe I'm overwhelm even my husband is telling me to take a brake that my brain can get rest at least for 24 hours.
I need to pass the test on the 1st time it's so important.
What should I do to pass?
Please help me..

You sound exactly how I feel.
I take my test July 20th, one week and three days to go and I am in utter panic mode! I work six hours a day and study at least five.........
I'm sure if there were a secret to passing this test, it would have been shared on this site by now.....hehehe
I also have a job that begins five days after I am scheduled to take my test so I really feel it is impairative that I pass on my first try.
I will pray for you as I pray for myself everynight. Goodluck, take a deep breath and just believe in yourself!!!!!!!

my test is scheduled on 9-August 2005 and I feel that the more I study I'm forgeting more. People here say often to just practice test, but for me I need to study first. I'm foreign nurse and I finnished my school in 1998, I forgot a lot.
I do study and practice test. I feel I need to know so much info............
Did you pass? What helped you to pass?

Back track a moment. What are using to study? What are using for your practice questions? I highly recommend Saunders, especially since you were foreign trained. It does the best job of explaining the rationale behind each answer.

Take a deep breath! I was getting 60's on those exams as well but I followed Christv's advice and I've been only doing the study portion from the Saunders cd's. I feel so much better cause I see the answers right away and there is less anxiety. I have put away the books and I am just doing questions. Saunders gives you a very good explanation for your answers. I'm doing 100 questions per day and I will be putting it up to 200 starting tomorrow.
I also stop whenever I just don't feel like studying because that builds up pressure as well. I stop take a good break and come back. But my exam isn't until August...
Anyway good luck!
Hi Suzanne,
I'm using the 9 book series from Mary Ann Hogan, there is everything written in detail. A month ago I finnished the NCLEX review for foreign nurses in our college, which was 3 month long and very good deep review for foreign nurses.
And Now I study on my own and ones a week I'm going for study group.
I practice 75-100 questions a day, using SAUNDERS and 3500 CD's. Plus I'm using FEUER lecture CD's to understand the content better.
I know that to pass for me is first know and understand the content and then focus on questions. 2 weeks before the test I will do just questions.
I did allready at least 3000 questions. I'm getting score around 70 %.
I hope that what I'm doing make sense and I will pass the test.
Am I right?

Saunders does the best job of explaining, especially with foreign nurses.
Which part of California are you in?
No, that is not correct.
