Ok guys, is anyone in the same boat as me?! When I sit at home spending hours studying, I just find that I keep going to the kitchen and grabbing one snack after the other and eating nonstop (it's not me buying the food...there's just so many unhealthy options available!!!)
Combined with not jogging anymore since I've been in school in August, I've gained 10 lbs. I do get a daily walk though with my dogs!
Please share your ideas on how to stop snacking?

Sounds like you're a stress eater. I'm the opposite. I was gaunt when I was applying to nursing school. It's about making the time to go to the Gym. Being tired is best time to exercise.
You're right, I should just push myself to do a little exercise each day, instead of saying I'm too tired. I think I do eat more when I feel the intensity on.

What about trying to prepare healthier snacks so that you have something ready to eat?
Or maybe try to study at the library so you don't have the temptation of eating?

I got rid of the vast majority of our unhealthy snacks, and make sure that I have a variety of healthier things that are ready-to-eat at any given times. I spend an hour twice a week washing and chopping up fresh fruit and veggies, then keep them in little containers in the fridge. It makes it so easy to just reach in for one of those.

Hidden valley just came out with a dip mix meant to be used in nonfat Greek yogurt. I love veggies and ranch dip. I'm trying it this weekend, I'll let you know if it's any good.

I've learned that I'm definitely a stress eater as well. My go to snacks are apples with peanut butter or a salad.

You need to exit the home and study in the mountains haha seriously though it's really peaceful and ur isolated from all the distractions.

I feel your pain. I've gained 30 lbs since starting nursing school!! I'm so glad I'm just about done. I look forward to having the time and energy to do all the things I love to do again.

I would recommend going to the library to study on your campus or somewhere that doesn't have food readily available. I also brought a water bottle with me, which I find helps when my brain starts thinking I'm hungry but my stomach disagrees. I would recommend SmartPop popcorn as a low calorie snack.

Rather than stop snacking, find a way to make a change in what is available to snack on. I don't know your situation so I can't make suggestions. Depending on what it is you are snacking on and how much of it you are actually eating, just doing a little exercise each day may not do the trick.
