I didn't make it in the nursing program. They let people in on a ranking system. They rank you by points for different classes and things that you have had. I had a 113 and the lowest to make it in was 123. ::sigh:: I was so excited. I'll be able to get in for the spring semester but I really wanted to start in August.

I guess things happen for a reason even if they suck sometimes. :sniff:

Specializes in Cardiac.

Keep your head up. Is there anything you can do to raise your points? Classes, retests, etc?

Specializes in Family Nurse Practitioner.

That is a bummer but its good to hear you can start in the spring. In the meantime maybe you can take some classes toward your BSN. The time will go by very quickly.

I'll be able to get in for the spring semester

Does this mean you got in, but you're just starting a few months later than you'd hoped for? Because if that's the case, you should be celebrating!

Things will work out for the best in the end. I didn't get in the first time either, but now I'm in a better program than the ones I applied to in the first place. You'll end up exactly where you're supposed to be, it's just that it's hard to see that until you've gotten there

Best of everything to you!!! You'll get there!

Starting in the spring isn't bad, you have more time to relax and not be stressed out about everything..... =)

I didn't make it in the first time I applied (even with a 4.0 in pre-reqs), ended up moving to another city, and made it in to another school. I had the best Nursing School experience, had so many good experiences/memories, and met my best friend there.

It's hard to realize it at the time, but I truly believe that things happen for a reason and you will end up where you were meant to be.

Good luck to you.

I am finishing the rest of my general education. I will be done with Anatomy and Physiology I, Mathematical Applications, Human Growth and Development, and Art Appreciation this summer.

All I will have to do in the fall is Anatomy and Physiology II, Microbiology, and Speech.

I am going to redo my math placement test and try to place in a higher math to start on my BSN courses. I can only take 3 classes toward it without calculus.

No. I didn't get in. I have to reapply in October and hope for spring.

With the additional pre-reqs from this summer, you will probably make it in this spring. Chin up, get all of your pre-reqs out of the way before nursing school starts so you can focus just on the nursing classes. You will probably do better that way anyway. It's just one semester, at least your school offers it in the spring there are some that have to wait a year and sometimes two. My original school only accepted part time students every other year so if you missed out you had to wait two more years. How's that for putting it into perspective???

Specializes in Ortho, Neuro, Detox, Tele.

Hey, you can take some time to relax and get things caught up before school catches up....

Hey just look at it this way, you want be crazy like those of us that is in the program. At least your insanity will come later. :banghead: So keep your head up and relax, you will get in and I look forward to hearing about your journey.

--Peace and love--

I understand your disappointment, but on the other hand, you'll have those pre-reqs out of the way and that will help a lot toward getting in for the spring AND to reduce your stress when you do get in! There are some students in my class that had to finish up A&P II (and other classes) during 1st semester. I wouldn't want to do that! I'm actually glad I waited to apply until I had those out of the way. I was able to focus on nursing classes and that was enough stress for me! lol
