I know searching stinks, so if you have a COT question for 10-04....

Stick it here and I'll answer what I can. I know the search isn't always useful, but try that first, and then if you have any questions feel free to post. I'm off on Sunday and Tuesday of this week (10 April 2010).

AF Nur is just struggling with the logistics of getting from Virginia to Cot to NTP in Scottsdale and then to California with an aging car. That is her baseline worry (for clarification). Wish there were an easy answer AF. If I were you, I'd do the drive all the way with all those stops along the way. You can carry more stuff in your car and it'll make the trip into shorter hops than one big journey.

AF - YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME!!! ;) Bless your heart....

I'm with mid, though - your travel voucher will be MASSIVE, more than enough for a decent down payment or enough to get you into a nice leased car. The deals out there right now are crazy crazy. Honda has a deal right now with zero down, zero due at signing, and $199 a month for 36 months on a brand spanking new Accord sedan. There's tons tons tons of them out there, and there will be more....

It's all good Crolinapooh. I am trying to hold out till December or there about to buy another car. But things will work out.

I know this has nothing to do with the topic, but I am a nursing student (I should graduate in 2013, my degree is taking a little longer than usual) planning on joining the Air Force after I graduate. I have a really good GPA now and I know I have plenty of time to worry about this but I like to plan things early. I have read many posts and just wanted to know if there are any tips you could give a future nurse?

Kepp your things organized, and start your paperwork on time, and Most of all, Be prepared to exercise your PATIENCE!!!

Do we actually get to wear our service Blue jacket while at COT? if so, to what occasion would we wear it to?

Yes - you actually wear it almost every time you wear blues, and you wear it for the graduation parade.

Oh Boy. June 25th in Alabama. Parade field. Sweltering sun. Wear your jacket and get roasted alive while your family watches! I can't wait. lol.

You might not wear it in the dead of summer. We didn't in Basic (I graduated on June 14 in San Antonio!!) and I've seen pictures of the COT graduations without them in it.

People would be passing out right and left. Even in November we got sunburned on the parade field.

Specializes in L&D, mother/baby, antepartum.

I graduated in June and we had to wear it. It was soooo hot. We also got to participate in a change of command ceremony that required much practicing and lots of hours standing on the field in the blazing summer sun. People passed out left and right. We just moved up/side-to-side to fill in the gaps while instructors and IDMTs transported people off the field. It was almost comedic because no one seemed to care. Oh, and did I mention we didn't have any water? Equally as hot are the ABUs. They are like oven roasting bags for humans.

ooooooo!!

You guys are just adding to my excitement and anticipation!

The ABUs ARE human roasting bags. Who was the Einstein who decided to make gear we're supposed to wear in the DESERT (read: where it's > 100 degrees) out of 50% POLYESTER/SYNTHETIC FIBERS???!!!

Probably the same genius who designed the women's blues pants!

Pooh is there any way I can get your email address from you. There is a few things I would like to ask you. I wil be stationed in San Antoino also I leave for COT in Aug.
