I feel like burning most the LVN review books I bought as they did me no good what-so-ever on the NCLEX. The questions I got came out of left field. Stuff that wasn't taught in school like post mordum care for jewish men and questions about the Buhdist faith. I couldn't believe the questions I got. It felt like I guessed at half the questions. What a terrible feeling I have now. I have went threw the ENTIRE Saunders LNV review book and cd TWICE, that's 6,000 questions, as well as the kaplan review book, "lvn made easy", and the mosby cd. Total review questions and rationales done exceeded 8,000. Yet it didn't help me at all. Yes I read the rationales for ALL the questions/ answers. The NCSBN.ORG review was the only thing that helped me as the questions were similar to the NCLEX.
The VAST majority of question were priority questions. I had learned all the tricks to answer these in the Kaplan book. Only one big problem....the priority questions in kaplan are a complete joke (very easy) compared to the actual NCLEX ones which were brutal.
My computer shut off at 85 and I am positive I got the 85th question wrong because I looked it up when I got home. I hear if the computer stops at 85 and you miss the last question ...you most likely failed if you weren't doing so hot. I wanted to throw up when I left the testing center.
So hear I sit and have to wait 3 weeks to get result in CA. I will start checking the LVN board website next week, but I have a bad feeling my name won't be up there and I will have to take the NCLEX again.
One last post, and I will try to get some sleep which seems impossible today. I feel so bad and I am praying for relief, but I wanted to leave everyone who has taken the test and endured the ups and downs a thought. Remember how you felt on this day and remember those who had a hard time and failed the 1st time. Could you imagine feeling like this and then failing? Help those who are down even when you are victorious. I dont feel like I did well, but there are alot who dont feel that way and still pass. A friend once told me if you come out feeling comfortable with the test go on and be a doctor. I now understand her reasoning behind that statement. I will help those who didnt make it even if I do pass, because I know how I feel now, and I can imagine how it would be if I didnt get good results in a couple of days. I had alot of people praying for me and I believe in the power of prayer, so try that too.
I hear what you are saying. I had to wait 26 days to get my result. It was pure hell as I didn't get more than 4 hours of sleep a night and I felt so bad not knowing my result. I thought there was a good chance that I didn't pass... but I ended up passing in the end. Best thing to do, while it is extremly hard, is try not to think about the test too much and let it consume you like it did me. I threw up after leaving the testing center so that shows you how the nclex got to me.
Day two, wheels are spinning in the head. Friend and I have pulled up every name we can think of to see if its on the board list prior to us getting our results tomorrow. We have called that 900 number a thousand times only to hear the same ol story, wait 2 business days. If we had to wait a week, wed be malnousished, decreased cognitive, anorexics. I will have results tomorrow afternoon, I am scared and cant sleep but am taking sleeping agent tonight to rest for big drama tomorrow.
I am new to the site and I feel so much better reading BigB's comment on how he passed since I did my test yesterday and felt the same way. I am here biting my nails since I just can't stop thinking about what I messed up on even though the computer shut down at 85. I just wanna pass so bad I'll drive myself nuts. :uhoh21:

Yes, the california lvn board is evil. MAking a person wait almost a month for results that will affect a persons life is cruel and unusual punishment.

Isn't there something that can be done so California can be just like the other States and we can get our "unofficial" results two business days later via phone or internet? But thanks again to BigB and The Commuter for your responses. Congrats on your results!!!
I PASSED THE NCLEX. :rotfl: :rotfl: :balloons: I am so relieved. Got the results today. My friend passed too. She thought she wasnt smart enough for the test to shut off at 85. It did and she passed today too. What a relief!!!!!! Mine cut off at 130 and I passed too. We both felt like we had to guess on the entire test and we passed. We could hardly believe it!!!!! Good luck to all who awaiting results. Try not to beat yourself up over it. We did even though we tried not to its hard. Help those who are less fortunate to achieve their goal. We are.

Congratulations "WhenyouCare", great job. You are all my idols!!!!! I take the NCLEX on 2/16 and am so scared and nervous. I just hope I can pass. I live in California so will be playing the wait game. I feel like I am guessing on the practice tests so I know how you feel, just hope something sticks in my brain before I take the test on 2/16. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers. You guys did a great job and will be great nurses!!!!!!!
