I feel like burning most the LVN review books I bought as they did me no good what-so-ever on the NCLEX. The questions I got came out of left field. Stuff that wasn't taught in school like post mordum care for jewish men and questions about the Buhdist faith. I couldn't believe the questions I got. It felt like I guessed at half the questions. What a terrible feeling I have now. I have went threw the ENTIRE Saunders LNV review book and cd TWICE, that's 6,000 questions, as well as the kaplan review book, "lvn made easy", and the mosby cd. Total review questions and rationales done exceeded 8,000. Yet it didn't help me at all. Yes I read the rationales for ALL the questions/ answers. The NCSBN.ORG review was the only thing that helped me as the questions were similar to the NCLEX.
The VAST majority of question were priority questions. I had learned all the tricks to answer these in the Kaplan book. Only one big problem....the priority questions in kaplan are a complete joke (very easy) compared to the actual NCLEX ones which were brutal.
My computer shut off at 85 and I am positive I got the 85th question wrong because I looked it up when I got home. I hear if the computer stops at 85 and you miss the last question ...you most likely failed if you weren't doing so hot. I wanted to throw up when I left the testing center.
So hear I sit and have to wait 3 weeks to get result in CA. I will start checking the LVN board website next week, but I have a bad feeling my name won't be up there and I will have to take the NCLEX again.
I was so worried that I failed because I think I had more Pharm questions in the history of NCLEX testing (30 to be exact). But I passed and it was a grueling wait. Thanks everyone for posting your threads. I didn't feel like I was waiting alone. (3 weeks) But the waiting continues now I have to wait another 2 to 3 weeks for my license. :chuckle
Hey guys,
I am here in Alabama and too my test last Thursday Jan. 26th. I am in the same boat. Cut off at 85 questions. I had some really hard prioritization questions and quite a few about dietary requirements. hmmmmmm. Only had 2 Pharm question *grin* Did fine on those. Now I am stressed out waiting on the results. I am in an RN program at Chipola College in Marianna, Florida where after our 3rd semester, you can sit for your PN exam. I am the president of our class and make some of the highest grades. What a bummer if I fail. What a bad example I would set for my class. Pray for me please!!! Will let you know the results in a few weeks!!
have a question guys, im in need of something to study of from. I've read saunders, lippincot etc, and even some online programs for tests. Is there anything else that anyone's suggest i study off from? Your input is much appreciated, thank you.

Alright guys, I am leaving m y house in 5 minutes to drive to Orlando to take my test....
I will post my thoughts when I return....
I am sooooooo nervous.
I have been using the Kaplan book, my atitesting.com site, and my med-surg book.
I can only help that working as a GPN has helped me a little.
oh, that was horrible.. it shut off at 90 or so....
I have NO idea how I did, some questions came out of left field.
I can only hope I passed and do NOT have to work as an aide for another 45 days....:angryfire
I was told to check the Pearson vue quick results tomorrow night, sooooo........
Hi guys! just new here at this site, by the way I start reading this forum after I took my nclex pn. Well, it seems we have same feeling after the test, some of us pass and some of us fail. Me, i failed the exam!! i dont know why! I thought i did it when I saw a small envelop! but inside of it was a letter that i did'nt pass. So guys dont be sure that if you see your mail with a small envelop it means you pass. Im telling you the truth because i feel happy when I saw the envelop, then wait for my wife to open it for a suprise! then after reading it, she said that I fail, thought she was just joking around. So I read and said; "has not pass".
Hope somebody will help us to get the right study guide. Weve used saunders and lippincott nothing happens. Its like the same with those who are not nurses who will take the test! Know what I mean?
One more thing!! if your computer tells you to have a break, then take a break, if you will not, it will shut down the next question. I think the computer tells you that your score is near the passing mark, its like they are giving you the oppotunity to answer more questions!
also, I think proctors on that testing center knows your result already. So if they say something different after your test it means ??? and if they say something nice, its a good sign you pass!

Hi! I am new to this forum, couldn't figure out how to post. Try not to worry. My graduating class was the first class to have the choice between written or computerized NCLEX testing, the class after mine had to take the computerized test. My computer shut off at 85 also. I have heard that the more questions you you are asked, the more you have missed.I've been an LPN for 11 years in PA. My experience has been mostly LTC with the exception of 2 long term private duty cases. I am presently preparing to try HHC for a company that has been around for a long time. I hope I like it! I wish you luck with your results! We also were told that we wouldn't know anything for 3 weeks, but our instructor told us if we called our Board Of Nursing and asked if a license has been issued in our name they would tell us. That's what I did - couldn't do anything with it until I received it - but what a relief to hear - Yes! This is a great & informative forum!
