Hi I'm a 24 year old college drop out with a low GPA. I finished high school with a good GPA and I went to a community college. Unfortuately, at that time I wasn't taking school seriously, in addtion, I didn't know what I want to do with my life. I took most of the pre requirements for nursing but got C in A&P and Micro. Now I'm more mature I want to go back to school and get my RN degree. I know I can do it but I don't know where to start. I live in a different city and I can't drive back and fourth to the community college that I dropped out from. I'm thinking to go to a community college in the city I reside or try to in role in to online university. Can you please help me brain storm or share you're story with me if you ever been in my shoes?
P.S:- ive been working as a CNA for the past 3 years and i love it.my long term goal is to become travel psychatric nurse practtioner. Thank you so much

go to the CC in your new city and talk with an advisor. They will be able to give you all sorts of info and advice
don't do your ADN online...

You will probably have to retake micro and A&P.

My school didn't accept any science scores less than a B to transfer in so you may have to retake those. Otherwise follow your dreams!

take your prereqs online if you can learn from that style. Just be sure the school is accredited and the nursing school(s) you're interested in take online coursework.

I second the online classes. I learn so much better in that format, because you have always listen to what they have to say again until you get it. You may as well retake the classes that got you a low GPA because most schools take your cumulative GPA into account. I have an F and 2 D's somewhere from long long ago and my would be 3.5 is now a 2.9 and it won't change for a LONG time.

Every school is different so you'll have to check , but in my town, if you fail or do bad in any class, you have to retake that class (if you choose to) at the same school you received the low grade. If you don't, those Cs will still be calculated into your GPA.
