I got a tour of the unit. Means I'm hired?

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

So I was interviewed yesterday by the recruiter and then the director. The director gave me a tour of her department. Does a tour mean they want to hire you? Or giving applicants tours is required of the interviewers?

She then asked me to come back day after (that is today) so the manager can interview me.

This is my second job interview. Just wondering. And why am I being passed down to be interviewed by the managers? She's already the director...

It's hard to wait, but if they are interviewing multiple people, they will wait to let you know until they are finished interviewing so they have an opportunity to find the best candidate. Hang in there, hopefully you'll hear from them soon.

So it's been a while. Did the OP get the job??

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

Not necessarily. I've been taken on tours after being interviewed and, a few days later, received calls or email notifications that another candidate was selected for the position.

The post-interview tour means absolutely nothing until it is something.
