I got my thin letter

So today I am lounging around with the kids, bored out of my mind. I stopped running to the mailbox every 30 minutes because I just put in my application to Valencia CC on 8/1. So I finally calmed down and figured it might actually take the 4-6 weeks they said it would be.

Valencia is not on a point system. You only have to taake the prerequs, make at least C's, and score 65 or higher on the NET. So I should have just known I was all good. But, this is the most important thing in my life right now (other than my fam). So I just knew if something could go wrong it would. So I have been worried every day thinking up new and more grandiose reasons why they wouldn't let me in.

Thankfully today they ended my Stress Fest. I got my letter! You know how in movies the kids waiting for college letters freak out if they aren't thick? Well that was me! I ws so scared to open it, my boyfriend (who got it from the mailbox) was more than happy to be the one to open it. I got myself together though, because I worked to hard on getting to this point to have someone else have the satisfaction of ripping open that envelope! So I did, and I am in Starting May 2009 (Summer 09). I am definately doing the happy hat dance! I think tonight call's for a trip to Kobe's!!!!!

Fall semester I am taking Spanish, Algebra, Intro to Humanities and American Government. I am excited about them all and will welcome the NON SCIENCENESS!!!!! Although I did purchase an NCLEX review book to start studying. I also got a book called How to Survive and Maybe even love your first year of NS. I hope that is the exact title, but dont quote me. I have really enjoyed the tips I found there! It kinda gave me a glimpse though, which is sorta kinda sscary!

Congrats to all who have gotten their letters, as well as those who completed the journey. I am so happy to have this opportunity to be a part of something that is so much bigger than myself. :yeah:

Congratulations! I hope that one day I get to make a post like this.

I know! I was waiting forever, and then it was here! How much longer do you have, or have you already applied? Also thank you!

Also for those of you in Central Florida.......Kobe's has a special right now (at least at Kirkman) kids eat free Mon-Wed! So I am just lucky today!

Congrats!!! I know the feeling all too well, I am still walking on Cloud 9 and pinching myself and it has been over 24 hrs for me :)

Good luck and remember time keeps moving, it will get here!

Congratulations!:clphnds: I bet it feels great to finally know.

I can't wait to get my letter, thick or thin. I applied in October. The deadline was the end of November. I have to wait until mid February until I hear something. Needless to say, the wait is killing me.

I know from dealing with different types of schools that letters of acceptance aren't always thick. The thin letter/thick letter idea is based on an old school model where different college departments such as financial aid, housing, health, parking you name it, threw all the new student info into one envelope. They figured since they were sending an acceptance letter your way they might as well throw in the kitchen sink while they were at it. These days plenty of schools no longer notify students that way.

Anyway it's nice that you know that you're in with several months of lead time. Congrats! :)

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 :yeah:

I am applying in January and will be dreading everyday until the letter shows up.
