Nhcc acceptance letters?
sunshine......I just finished the RN program at NHCC. I took all my pre-req's there and was extremely happy with the program. The instructors were all knowledgeable and spoke EXCELLENT english. NONE of my instructor in the RN program were foreign. The only fee you pay (and have to pay it each year when you apply) is your application fee. NHCC does not have a waiting list like other schools, so you must apply each year if you do not get in. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the program. It would be best to get answers from someone who has been in the program. Thanks Matt

Nhcc acceptance letters?
I took the Pharm class on-line last summer (before starting the program). I liked the on-line class. It was weekly discussions and tests. It really helps lessen the work load the second semester of the nursing program. In my class this semester there were about 4 or 5 (out of 50) that did not have to worry or work on Pharm. It really gives you more time to prepare for tests and clinicals. Hope that makes sense. Matt

Nhcc acceptance letters?
I like the program and staff at NHCC. NHCC has one of the highest (if not the highest) first attempt pass rates on the NCLEX. I do not think you would be unhappy at NHCC. I do not know anything about Anoka, but have heard good things about it also. Good luck with your decision. If you decide on NHCC, I am happy to help with anything there. I am in the night and weekend program. Matt

Nhcc acceptance letters?
Congrats to everyone who has received their letters. For those of you who have not, or were not accepted, keep trying. As for the classes at NHCC, the classes are: Fall First Year -- Nurs 1211 5 credits -- Foundations of Nursing Nurs 1213 3 credits -- Health/Physical Assessment Spring First Year -- Nurs 1212 5 credits -- Provider Care 1 Nurs 1214 3 credits -- Principles of Pharm. Fall Second Year -- Nurs 2211 8 credits -- Provider Care 2 Spring Second Year -- Nurs 2212 8 credits -- Manager of Care and Member of the Discipline of Nursing I am just finishing up my first year at NHCC (Final is on the 11th). I would recommend you take the Principles of Pharm over the summer if you can (makes the second semester less stressful). If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask. Matt

North Hennepin or Hennepin Tech??
NHCC is NOT getting rid of there nursing program. They just went through re-accreditation. I start the RN program next Monday (24th). NHCC uses your grades in pre-reqs to rank you to make their decision on who gets in. The more you have done and the better the grade, the more likely you will make it in. There are 80 day slots and 50 night slots. You have to decide which program when you apply. Once you make it into the program, the nursing classes are what make up the 8 credits per semester. This first semester I will have Nursing Fundamentals (5 credits) and Assessment (3 credits). Hope that helps. If you have any questions, let me know Matt

Ages of male nursing students?
I am 38 and I start this fall. I will finish my ADN when I am 40. My plan is to go on and complete a BSN and possibly a Nurse Practitioner program.....so I will be in school for the next 8 years or so :) Good Luck everyone. Matt

Accepted to North Hennepin for Fall, anyone else?
You need to get the highest grades possible. I know the program is getting more and more competitive. With this economy, many people are attempting to get into nursing because they think it is safe from an economic downturn. I have my orientation next Tuesday. I will let you know how many people applied (if they say this year) and how many were competitive. How many classes have you finished? What does your schedule look like for the next year? Will you be able to complete all the required prereqs by December? Matt

I GIVE UP~
Can you take Micro at a different school and transfer it in? Seems like such a waste to have one class or one instructor ruin your dream. There are other options. Seek them out. Good Luck Matt
- Waiting to hear from Inver Hills on acceptance
