I got in at Phoenix College...anyone else?

Specializes in Pediatric ICU.

I just found out Tuesday that I got in at Phoenix College for the Spring '06 class. :w00t: Anyone out there currently going to school there? Any advice? Since all my pre-reqs were completed at MCC I know the teachers there and have many friends there (Mary and many others).

Would love to talk to someone who's already going to school there. Anyone?

Specializes in PeriOp, ICU, PICU, NICU.

I just wanted to congratulate you. Good luck.

Congrats!

I don't go there but at clinical the other day one of the LPNs I was following told me she is getting her RN there right now. She said it's a good program and she likes it. So hope that helps!

Congrats Good luck to you!

Where is Phx College located? Is it by GPA and not lottery? How is the cost compared to MCC?

Phoenix College is part of the community College system. After you complete your prereqs you will rank your preferences on your application. Depending on which semester you choose your choices would include MCC, SCC, CGCC, Rio, Gateway, Phoenix College, Glendale CC, etc.....When your lottery # comes up, you will get placed at whichever college that you selected that has an opening.....Some people get their first choice, while some get their 5th choice....

Oh yeah...I forgot to add...it is downtown around Thomas and 10th Ave

Boomerfriend,

I just wanted to congratulate you again!!! I'm so excited for you, partially because that means I now have a better chance :rotfl: . A friend of mine was number 109 and didn't get placed. I'm thinking she'll probably get placed pretty soon though, but she does only have two choices on her ap. I know there's someone on here who goes to PCC, but I don't remember who it was. Have you gotten over the shock yet??

Yeah, I'm pretty much still in shock.

Phoenix college was my 4th choice so the lottery worked for me. I would have rather had MCC but PC will be fine. I've heard lots of good reviews. Now I'm excited and am anxiously waiting for my info packet.

Congratulations! I am in block one at PC, I love it the instructors, are really nice, sometimes a little unorganized, but overall awesome. I have learned so much in the last 2 months, it's crazy. Block one is pretty easy, I think.. I am now doing clinicals at PV, wow it sure is eye opening, but I do love it. Go into PC website, go to dept and programs, scroll down on right to nursing, go into yellow box on right to course outline, go to block one and there you go, thats what you will be doing, all the powerpoints are right there! anyway let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks Mattmom! I can always count on you :wink2:

I want to get into nursing school as quick as possible but I don't want to make that drive from west Gilbert everyday!

Ariel, I applied in June and will start in January. So, officially I waited one semester. However, I got my 4th choice.

Jennette, thanks for the info. We'll be in touch!
