Hi, I don't know what my GPA was that they connsidered because I have a lot of credits that didn't go towards the nursing program. They only took into consideration the courses that were for the nursing program and I had mostly A's and B's... I did have one C and that was in Microbiology but I don't know if they are going to make me take that over again... hopefully I'll get my transfer credit evaluation soon and it will tell me what classes, if any I have to take. I have taken all the pre-req's and non-nursing courses.. I'm just waiting to see if they accepted all of them so all I will have to take are the nursing classes.
I had also gone to 3 different schools and your GPA starts new each time you transfer so I don't really know what my cummulative GPA is.. my last GPA was a 3.8 or so.
during the summer i will take care of my humanities and do back my child dev..i got a c+ in that course..imma do that back again...and then apply in the fall...for day or evening..i still have to take my anatomy132 and micro..mean time i will try to get my CNA and PCT to get my foot in the field....congrad to you
NurseMeme:
I applied for the fall but did not get in. My grades are pretty good except for the C+ in math. I will be retaking it over the summer.
My question is that it states in the catalog and the paperwork I received from the department that they would accept either Microbiology or AHS 105. I could not get into micro so I am taking AHS 105. Do you know of anyone who took AHS 105 and got into the program.
Thanks
nurse tracy...did you apply for the mornings or evenings...i still dont see why you wasnt accepted..they make this RN thing so ridiculous..that it makes you want to do something else..i am thinking of just doing something else..if i dont get accepted..i will be applying in oct...goodluck
tprashad: I applied for the day program since I knew I did not have a chance of getting into the evening program.
I will apply for the spring program and then again for the fall and if I do not get in I will have to move on to another school.
There is this girl in my AP2 class who has a 3.7 and did not get into the evening program.
Good luck!
I feel like it is ridiculous how difficult they make it to get into a nursing program, but yet complain about such a shortage of nurses... maybe because there is not enough space in the nursing programs!
I don't think they go based just on grades for admission... I don't know what my GPA was but I did have a C in micro and some B's and a few A's... I can't believe the girl with a 3.7 didn't get into the evening program... Maybe they look at other things? I have about 117 credits in total... lots of them are different science classes.. maybe that helped me. I don't know...
Nurse Meme, Did you attend the day or evening program? How much time was really required of you outside of the classes? (Like studying time, etc) How much did you need to study everyday? I'm a little scared because I will be working full time but I think all I need left are the nursing courses. They still seem really demanding so I'm going to be working my butt off but I'm just wondering what a first hand experience with the program was. :)
Anything you can tell me about the program would be great!

Hi everyone. I have never posted here before but today I have some good (make that GREAT) news!!!
I got accepted to Nassau Community College's evening nursing program! They only accept about 35 people so I was VERY nervous!
Well, I just wanted to share my news! I look forward to being on this website a lot more often now. :)
