U.S.A. New York

Hi everyone. I have never posted here before but today I have some good (make that GREAT) news!!!

I got accepted to Nassau Community College's evening nursing program! They only accept about 35 people so I was VERY nervous!

Well, I just wanted to share my news! I look forward to being on this website a lot more often now. :)

I got in for the Summer Session II. :) I got really lucky because the seat that had opened up was for Summer Session I but someone took that seat but another one opened for session II before I got there so I'm in. :) I am so glad because this means I will only be taking the nursing classes after this summer. Thanks for all your info! I was going to beg, like you recommended, if if a seat didn't open up! :) LOL

Yaaayyyyyyyyyy!! thats awesome.... So much less to worry about once you start the nursing program!!!!

I know, right? I can't imagine working full time, taking the nursing classes AND A&P2! I would have died. :) Thanks for the help guys.

congrat. i am a male student. i got accepted also to nassau cc. i will start in fall day time. i do not think it is that hard to get in to the program , my gpa is 4.00. however i know a student ,her gpa is 3.51 and got accepted. so do not get discouraged. believe me if you want to be a nurse. just take few credit at a time . do good in a&p and good luck.

any student starting this fall for nur 103 day time at new island hospital. it is always good to support each other.

good luck for u all nursing student

I'll be starting this fall for the evening program. We're doing our clinicals at North Shore- LIJ in Plainview. Has anyone ever done their clinicals there? How was it?

i did not know that you could have clinical in north shore hospital. i heard is very good hospital.

good luck

yea ..i went to register for summer classes at NCC..taking two Humanties courses..(music,com101) and taking back phyc child dev..(got a C+) SO I APPLIED FOR THIS class for summer session 2.....now i went to register for ahs132...FULL!!! even Micro is FULL!!..for sept and jan...this is ridiculous...in july i got to beg the professor if i can get it...but i will still apply for the Nursing PROG in october...-tony

It's crazy because from one day to the next classes open up so keep looking up the classes online and then try to run to the school to get in. That's what I did... AHS 132 opened up one night and I ran the next morning to get in... You gotta be the first one there though. I saw 2 open seats in AHS 132 this weekend but I guess they must have filled up already.

Nicemood, I think each class section is assigned to a different hospital. The evening classes do their clinicals the first semester at North Shore- Plainview. I'm glad to hear it's a good hospital. :)

ohh..so your going p/t...do you know anywhere i can take my CNA..?

There are only 2 places that I know of (I've searched all over) one is in Jamacia Queens called the Allan(Allen?) School and the other is in Hempstead called the Franklin Career Institute. However, there are hospitals that will hire without your certification. I know St. Francis and Mercy Medical Center will. Good luck.

is any one has signed for preps program in the nursing department for june. i did. they said it will prepare us to take the nursing program in fall.

Hi, I signed up. I'm not sure how I'll fit it into my schedule once fall starts but I'm definitely going to go during the summer. Maybe I'll see you there. :)
