I got in from work at about 2:30 this morning (I'm a bartender) and although I was half asleep, I decided to check my email. I had an email from Andrea Schmoyer saying I got in and expect a packet in the mail!!! Yay!!! I thought I was nervous enough when I applied back in October, but now I'm really nervous. Just want to know what anyone has heard about the difficulty of the program and any and all other info about the program. Please feel free to share the good and the bad so I know what to expect.

Congratulations!!! That is great news! I am sending off my application for UIC this week. Can I ask you a question about the essay? Did you answer each question separately or did you write it all as one essay? Hopefully I will see you next year!

Actually, UIC is University of Illinois, Chicago campus. I don't think University of Chicago has a nursing school. Both universities have hospitals though. Confusing, eh?
From what I remember, UIC is a much sought-after program. It's inexpensive compared to other Chicago nursing schools (BSN programs, that is) or at least it was 10 years ago when I was in college. But that's the thing about it - it's the best price for a BSN in Chicago, yet it's one of the best nursing schools in the area. I've heard that their clinical rotations are excellent at preparing their students. And because it's such a hard program to get into because of it's prestige and price, only the best of the best get accepted each year so that's another reason it's new grads have good reputations.
Congratulations!!!

Thanks....that is what I did, but I wasn't sure if that is what they wanted. I am just so scared about not getting in that I want everything to be perfect. btw, I have heard nothing but good things about UIC's nursing school.
