I got Accepted!!!

I JUST RECEIVED A LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE FROM AULTMAN HOSPITAL SCHOOL OF NURSING! I BEGIN AUGUST 2004!!! THIS IS A SHOCK SINCE I WAS TURNED DOWN LAST SPRING! I PLAN ON GOING BACK TO UNIV OF AKRON TO GET MY BSN UPON COMPLETION OF THE DIPLOMA.

I HAVE ALL MY PRE-REQ'S AND CO-REQ'S COMPLETED SO I CAN JUMP RIGHT INTO NURSING COURSES. ANY ADVICE??? CAN SOMEONE TELL ME EXACTLY HOW DIFFICULT THE NURSING COURSES ARE? I'M STARTING TO GET A LITTLE NERVOUS NOW. I HAVE 4 CHILDREN (7 YRS; 5 YRS; 4 YRS; 2 YRS). I HOPE I CAN HANDLE THIS!!!!! I ALSO WORK AT AKRON GENERAL MED CENTER IN THE STERILE PROC DEPT ON THE WEEKENDS. UNFORTUNATELY, THEY DO NOT HIRE 2-YR RN'S! OH WELL.....THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER HOSPITALS OUT THERE THAT DO!!

As a Nursing student myself (Stark State) you might want to check out the pass rate for Aultman. It is hovering around 68%. The state came in recently and shut down their accelerated program.. Best of luck to you in your schooling.

I called Aultman Hosp upon reading your posting regarding the pass rate. I personally spoke to the director of nursing. Currently, Aultman has 100% passing rate for the state board! The state DID NOT come in and shut down their accelerated program! Aultman is upgrading their curriculum from a diploma to an associate degree program. This new program will be in affect next year, and while they are upgrading this program, they cannot have an accelarated program until the upgrade has been completed which will be 2005.

Good to hear you got into a program. I was going to recommend Huron, or Tri C's program. Aultman is a good program. Hope you do well.

What is the we site you go to that has the pass percentages of state boards?? I am going to Lakeland Community College now.

Go to www.nursing.ohio.gov/ there is a side bar that says education and if you click on that it brings up a category for RN and LPN NCLEX results for the past three years

Hello from another student of Aultman SON. I started in August 03 had one withdraw due to personal issues. I returned in the Fall of 04 then did not pass one class:crying2: . But will re enter the course in March. Looking forward getting to know you.
