Was thinking about Excelsior College. I only need the nursing concepts classes. I was going to buy some study guides off of ebay instead of signing with a publishing company. Does anyone have a preference of any of the different companys study guides? Are any of them better than others? Thanks for the help! :)

What is the difference between DCN and Excelsior College? I have called DCN a few times for info and nobody gets back to me. I have yet to receive info in the mail. Thanks for the help. :)

What is the we site you go to that has the pass percentages of state boards?? I am going to Lakeland Community College now.

We see many fibromyalgia cases in our office. There is no blood test or x-ray that diagnoses it. The doctor has to decide that according to symptoms. You have to have at least "12" trigger points or painful areas(where FMS usually occurs). He puts many people majority woman on SSRi's, flexeril and elavil in the eveing to sleep. He also recommends some sweaty type of exercise if you can tolerate it like speed walking or the bike. Alot of people find that hard because when your in pain you cant exercise. We give the patients a pamphlet from the arthritis foundation telling them in detail what they can expect, there are many different feeling FMS patients get.

I am a LPN working in a Doctors office full time, while going to school at night. Im taking my pre-reqs for RN at a local community college. There are many opportunities all over for LPN's, but mostly i notice for RN's. I have worked on a med-surg unit, nursing homes, doctors offices and even did some part time school nursing. If i could do it all over again i would of went right for my RN after LPN school, i attended LPN school during high school. Good Luck to all!

I work for UHHS. From what i hear UH pays alot less then CCF and they dont have the incentives like CCF does. It seems like CCF has everything down pat, and UHHS will also be a close second. Let me know if you find out different.

I am taking my pre-reqs for Lakeland's ADN program. I am a LPN now so i am eligible for the ACCESS to nursing program there. Does anyone have experience with ACCESS or with Lakeland?? I was just wondering what to expect once i get in! :)

I'm attending Lakeland Community College in Mentor Ohio. Its a ADN program. The next class i have to take is anatomy and physiology.

I would not of signed the write up either. Where i work there is no box marked that you are signing but disagree, you can write a rebuttle about the accusation. Some supervisors like to feel in control about writing people up. I would probably think twice about picking up extra shifts now. You have done them all these favors and now they cant give you the benefit of the doubt!

I am a LPN in RN school and i worked ortho for five years. It was in a hospital. Alot of joint replacements and minor ortho surgeries. It was a nice speciality and i enjoyed the work. Most of the patients werent REAL sick. They had come in for surgery or had a trauma and needed it. There were many LPN's that worked on the floor. It does consist of alot of lifting and turning.
